i like volquez..............he doesn't have the experience yet......may be better than all of them...........

Both smallish for pitchers these days, both have/had excellent...yes Mussina threw hard early in his career, don't compare the Mussina of today.

Mussina's fastball made him,he also had several big strikeout years, when he had his real good fastball he was unstoppable and pretty much had no hit stuff.

If Lincecum ends up with Mussina's career nothing wrong with that.

I will try not to say anything that could be taken so literally in the future...I've never seen so many nitpicky analytical people in one place .

I remember when they said Mussina was a no hitter waiting to happen everytime he went out.

Mussina has lasted a lot longer than everyone expected, but he also has perfect form....look at a guy like Roy Oswalt another 'smlaler' pitcher by todays standard, he will never last as long. Lincecum is a throwback, hopefully he will leave SF as soon as he is eligible, which isn't for a few years yet....

I wouldn't be surprised to see him in NY someday.

Yes but we are missing the point here. "YOUNG" if you build a team around him then you build other strengths. He is going to be great one day and if you put the right ones with him, the they wont be beat. We are talking longevity here not just right now.
