Let the Superbowl land 6 or 7 and let the total land 47 and you will see some books close shop.

They will be fine. And the ones in Vegas will have any money lost brought right back to them at the craps tables tonight.
Top tier books would be OK...but if you book and are afraid of a number, then you are not much of a bookmaker...there are still props, ML, and other bets to the game...Books want you to bet high and bet often....
27-20 & i'll be on Expedia seeking 1-way Ticket Jamaica
U coming Willy & VD ??????
I'll have about $112 left in BR if 27-20 Pitt / first rd drinks on me
BFC - believe me I'm on your side but we both know that's not the real world. Dime store bookies open without being properly funded and with a nose candy habit to boot, trust me I've seen it all before. Of course nothing is going to hurt the big clearinghouse type of joints but I guarantee you that there are some books sweating this game like never before.
It's sort of like a reality show elimination. You pack your bags in case you get eliminated, if not you return to the mansion. In this case it's airport bags being packed, the game hits and they are on the first flight out of town never to return. Unfortunately I'm not kidding. Anyway here's to a Cardinal 16-3 win.
Let the Superbowl land 6 or 7 and let the total land 47 and you will see some books close shop.
Agree with Pitt winning by 7 and the total of 47, but why would Pitt winning by 6 be any different than any other outcome?
Most Pitt tickets are @ -6 -115 to -120
All AZ tickets are +7 -110 to -120
It is really tough to book one game and expect to win big...you need to beat one side of the teasers on the game and total...but with props and volume you can win, especially if you use the ML to your advantage....and remember, juice is a wonderful thing....good luck to everyone, may all your televisions survive....
Well, that's some bad bookmaking then, and they more than deserve to go out of business. But don't fret, bad books/bookies, maybe our beloved Congress will bail you out too!

I am talking online books. (including advertisers here at EOG)
Nothing you can do about punters buying half points...how do you call that bad bookmaking? There are hundreds of players buying more than a full point also....

Pioneer's still trying to act like he's got a clue about gambling.
Here's a deal for you Pioneer, you don't try to tell the bookies on this site how to run their business and they won't tell you how to swab a deck.
Not much the books can do as the players are buying it down from 6.5 to 6. Actually buying on to the 6 from 6.5 for 10 cents is a bad play to begin with. gl with your action today Pioneer.:cheersWell, that's some bad bookmaking then, and they more than deserve to go out of business. Well I'd be lying if I said I'll be rooting for you but we can both win money if it lands 47.:cheersI agree that it's a bad play to buy on to the 6 from 6.5 for 10 cents, and that's why I don't think there will be that much action on Pitt-6, and therefore why I disagreed with OSU's conclusion that Pitt winning by 6 would be catastrophic for the books.
ps. thanks RayC, I'm only on the over 46.5

VD
we are sitting on people with AZ win it all @ 75-1 AND 30-1
OUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Pioneer, you forgot to put the equation of Pitt teasers at PK....tons of teasers out there at minus a half and pick...that is where the 6 factors in...
True and good point, VD....but that is a minute fraction of the Vegas bet total and I still contend that the game landing on Pitt -6 will NOT be catastrophic for the Vegas books, as opposed to Pitt -7 and total 47.
And I am only referring to Vegas books as the offshores have essentially already been dead to me for about a year, since they can't seem to get their payment processor issues resolved.
There are more offshore books that begin with the letter "A" than there are in the entire state of Nevada.
