I go through about one a year. They never last in our house. We are a pretty rough on them but I wish I could find one that could take daily use and used twice a day sometimes more.

We have had a Kirby for years now.
While you do still have to change bags, ours last two to three times a day use.

A dwarf performer at the Edinburgh fringe festival had to be rushed to hospital after his penis got stuck to a vacuum cleaner during an act that went horribly awry.
Daniel Blackner, or "Captain Dan the Demon Dwarf", was due to perform at the Circus of Horrors at the festival known for its oddball, offbeat performances.
The main part of his act saw him appear on stage with a vacuum cleaner attached to his member through a special attachment.
The attachment broke before the performance and Blackner tried to fix it using extra-strong glue, but unfortunately only let it dry for 20 seconds instead of the 20 minutes required.
He then joined it directly to his organ. The end result? A solid attachment, laughter, mortification and ... hospitalisation.
"It was the most embarrassing moment of my life when I got wheeled into a packed A&E with a vacuum attached to me," Blackner said.
"I just wished the ground could swallow me up. Luckily, they saw me quickly so the embarrassment was short-lived."

We have a new Kenmore that is beltless. Ranks very high in Consumer Reports. Has a bag but cleans very well. We have 7 dogs, and it cleans up dog hair very well.
But the best part is that it is guaranteed by Sears. We went through two other vacuums that we bought prior to this one, and Sears took them back with a full credit an put it towards our new one. I recommend buying from Sears on all products that they sell.

We have a dalmation and nothing picks up those fine hairs better than the Dyson. We have the ball model, it is great. I would highly recommend.

Really? My sister hates her Dyson, but I think her complaint is that it's no good on hard floors.
My mom has had a Kirby for years and my Dad just bought one. They're heavy and you need to be somewhat of an engineer to change the attachments (at least on my mom's old model), BUT they last forever. Yes, you have to change the bag, but the allergen filters are awesome. Well worth the hassel.

We have a dog, and yes, Dyson is the way to go! Vacuum your house before you buy it, bring it home and vacuum right away, you will be blown away at what you find.
