Why don't the let all the shit run businesses that need a bailout go belly up?

I mean, there will be some other well run business that will take their place.

It's pretty obvious these businesses are run very poorly.

Bailing out those that don't know how the hell to run a business and taking the bailout money from those that do is not how it works

Are we talking about the auto industry in detroit?

We can always buy foreign if those companies go belly up.

If those companies made better quality cars in the first place, we wouldn't have to bail them out.

Re: Why don't the let all the shit run businesses that need a bailout go belly up?

BAnks, auto, whatever it is.

Obviously their not doing something right. And the more I read or hear about it, it pisses me off, cause I pay a shit pot load of taxes and it goes to the numb nuts that don't have a clue.

Then we have Obama coming in and passing this stupid fucking stimlus bill that is a complete joke.

I mean, there is a tax cut business can get if they hire someone with out a high school diploma....that's right, lets say fuck you to the qualified guy that busted his ass and take the dumb fuck that ran through life looking for hand outs with no education.

That's right, $2400 tax break for every drop out we hire, sign me the fuck up2348ji23e

In order to 'stimulate' spending, prices need to be lowered so people can afford shit.

No matter how many billions are 'pumped' into the economy, a latte at Starbucks is still gonna cost 3.95.

force the starbuckes of the world to lower their prices to .95 cents and you'll see a lot of people who want to enjoy that carmel frappuchnio bullshit drink (as larry david calls it) stimulating this economy

In order to lower prices it has to be done across the board.

Fine, I will lower my prices for a cake if I can get a tax cut and cheaper cheese......deal?

Thing is, i'm not asking for a bailout. If I fuck things up I evaulate where I went wrong and dont go asking for handouts

The stimulus bill is being spent on pork. They really need to create new jobs, infrastructure, and kick start the home construction. But they can't because there are another 3-4 years of overbuilt inventory in banks possession.

As far as businesses being bailed out, This started with AIG and other insurers, who should have not insured bad paper, and were not made to honor the insurance, they just collect. But stuck between a rock and a bigger rock now, without intervention the entire world's banking system will collapse.

The end game is near. Arnold is taxing everything, kickin up gas taxes 11 cents a gallon. Pretty soon over half the price of a gallon of gas will be tax. Call it travel tax. Going to start taxing everything, golf, wine, you name it. And the corporations are going to get huge tax breaks, just to stay in business. It pretty much illustrates what has become of our government, corporate run and driven, paid for by the broke back average joe taxpayers.

This has nothing to do with prices, and we are not in inflationary times, yet. That will be the next phase, hyperinflation to devaluate the dollar. A lot of prices are falling now, and people still can't buy anything. But once the massive layoffs start, The real ugliness will begin.

Took my three year old to the park next door. He has been housebound by the rain. Tough times ahead my man. Very tough. Almost no business is recession proof. But now we are in this ugly downward spiral that has no end in sight. More layoffs, less government revenue, less spending, more layoffs. Our economy is broken, bad. If anything the economic stimulus package should have been 80% job creation, get us back on our feet again. Upgrading governement agencies and making capitol parks nice for the congressmen who sell thier souls to corporations will actually hurt us for the long term, and do nothing short term. I fear there are no answer, and not one politician has the guts to make the ugly career killing decisions. Study the Weimar Republic banking crisis mid 20's. The parallels are scary. They throw 6 trillion at this mess, and it may have no impact, like the first 350 billion. If that happens...

Best Wishes...OF :+waving-5

The more you study the economic stimulus bill, the worse it looks. No one in congress even had the opportunity to study the 1100 pages, they pushed it through because they are desperate.

Actually he has it almost ass backwards. What you really need to do is understand how our economy works. It works by expansion, job creation and drawing revenue off of the expansion. A recession is the opposite of expansion. Everything is in contraction, shrinking and receeding. Especially net worth and disposable income. It would not matter if you fixed prices close to nothing if no one had any money or income.

People would use thier equity to buy big tickets items, no matter how much the price was. They would take a home loan, borrow against 401K or equity funds, maybe even cash out. That has all evaporated. So has credit. We are a credit based society. Without it the economy grinds to a halt.

No, and no. Hell no. People who lost thier homes, thier retirements and all of thier net worth just spend on what they need, no matter what the prices are. People who lost thier jobs spend less, no matter what prices are. It's all about employment, which is why unemployment figures are key indicators for the economy. Employed people pay into the system, unemployed people draw from it. Gas prices were cut in half, and the economy melted down so bad it did not matter, no one buys the lowered price gas because they don't have jobs to travel to, and are afraid to spend any money. Another indicator, consumer confidence. When people are frightened, and boy are they ever now, they don't spend anything no matter what the price is. This is so far from supply/demand economics it is scary.
