Kobe vs Lebron. What lengths will the NBAe go?

I was thinking about the Celtics game tonight and normally, i'd think that the league would 'step in' and help out the C's....after all, they are one of the NBA's 'chosen' teams, right?

Wrong.

The league wants Kobe vs Lebron. They realize now that Garnett is out, the Celtics will pose no match for the Western Champ Lakers. Lakers will sweep them in 4 no doubt. Do you think the NBA wants a 4 game boring sweep in the finals? Of course not, they want an epic, knock down, drag out fight to the finish between Kobe and Lebron. A series for the ages, a series to remember forever.

If the Celtics get to the finals vs the Lakers....well, we have seen this movie already, why would we want to see it again?

Kobe and Lebron are the two most dynamic stars in the NBA today. They are both on the best team in their respective conferences.

Do you think the refs and the league are going to do any favors for the Celtics knowing that the C's are the only real threat to the Cavs not getting to the finals?

There's a chance that we could be talking about Kobe vs Lebron ten years from now as one of the all time finals. Or not. But if the Cavs don't get there, who's going to really care? Are you going to be chained to your chair if the Lakers are playing the Orlando Magic in the finals? Of course not, you probably won't even watch unless you bet. You're not going to watch as a fan because you won't care.

Lebron and Kobe have made you not want to see anything else this summer and you know what?

The NBAe knows this too.

I really don't think the refs could stop the Cleveland/Lakers finals if they wanted too, so no need for them to be helping it out.

Boston poses no threat to Cleveland with Garnett out of the lineup. I thought the championship was between three teams all year; Lakers, Cleveland and Boston. With Garnett hurt Boston is out. Cleveland and Lakers in the finals and neither team should even have to go 7 games with an opponent.

Should be a very predictable playoffs, but a very, very entertaining finals. That series will get hyped like nothing we've ever seen before.

The NBA is the one sport where the best team nearly always wins the title - it's obvious that the Lakers and Cavs are the two best teams - with that said, the NBA will stop at nothing to make sure that Kobe meets Lebron in the finals - they're still in the hole from SA/NJ

The Lakers and Cavs will be getting calls down the stretch -if- needed.

And when the finals come Kobe will lay down just like he is told to to give Lebron his first title. I guarantee it. 7-24 shooting almost every night. its not an accident that the Cavs once again have the easiest ride thru the playoffs. Now u look at the Lakers they have the hardest team in the west when healthy and right now they are. This to beat them up a little.

with the conspiracy in mind.....who does the NBA want to win the HOU/POR series?

Houston - Lakers will easily advance (to the Lakeshow/Cavs matchup described)
Portland - will bring 6 or 7 great games for us to watch but a slight chance of an upset by the blazers?

Was horrible watching Harpring getting 3 fouls for just breathing on Kobe. NBA is for the casual fan who is a moron, the refs take over the game. ITs very hard to even watch.
