Re: Martingale

Well, that's just stupid.

Playing one trial at a -1.40 disadvantage will always be better than playing 2 or 5 or 10 trials or all afternoon at a -1.40 disadvantange.

Are you crazy? Give this man a free room. Maybe free ice at the end of the hall.

Geesh.

Uh, didn't you just confirm my statement? Does -1.40 equal -1.40? The percentage DOES NOT change no matter how long or how many trials you play.

Re: Martingale

I'm talking to the wall.

If you could flip a coin one time at -1.4, or flip a coin all afternoon at -1.4, which do you think would be better? Of course, the percentage remains -1.4. It's against you everytime. So the less you do it, the better off you are. It doesn't have to change, and as long as you can't figure that out, you will remain a valued casino customer.

Perhaps the EOG Board of Directors might consider entrance exams to participate on the site. Everywhere, of course, but the Political Forum.

Re: Martingale

Jeff, you said "Each roll you stay at the table reduces your percentages." It DOES NOT reduce your percentages. You can play for one minute, one hour, one day, one week, or one month, it doesn't matter. The percentages remain the same.

Well, waitress, get Kinosh another beer. (The box, the pit boss, the casino manager look on,) they nod their heads.

Re Martingale System:-
In over 50 years of betting on sports I have never found the martingale system to be any more efficient than any other system of staking. Therefore, I personally do not understand why anyone would use it.
The Martingale system is just one of many staking methods that are used to make up for the inadequacy of the strike rate of a method of gambling. (In fact value is more important anyway).
Twice in my lifetime of gambling I used the Martingale system, once in 1979 and again in 1985 with a group of sports gamblers. When it worked it was good but on each occasion there came a time when the stake needed to make up for the money lost went beyond our original bank. It was at this time that I realised what mental stress meant.
Although there are different methods of using Martingale, It is just not worth putting yourself to so much stress when the system is not more efficient in the long term.
Very best wishes to you all,
greenbow.

Re: Martingale

ill say this one last time...

there is a way to use a limited form of the martingale system, to lay out your betting pattern...

there is no way to use an infinite martingale system.
