When i think of people doing the dating website thing, it makes me think of a a dork or loser trying to find someone that is as bad as they are. I cant imagine using these services. Is it really that hard for some of you to go out and pick up chicks?

I am going to be married soon so I'll never experience this "dating website" thing.....
.....but in theory I think the idea is great
now the trouble is that you are stuck with only the girls that sign up for this (probably the less attractive ones that can't find guys).....if we were all forced to submit one of these with our tax returns...fantastic!

I think you have it phrased wrong...it is a website for losers who can't score ass the normal way (i.e., walk in bar, say hi) to get laid. Every guy I know who has used them has had good success with decent to good looking women, and these guys couldn't talk to a wall if they walked into a bar/church/casino/titty joint.

but one of my best friends met his wife this way and i know a few others as well

I dj'd a wedding about two months ago and as soon as i saw the couple walk in and be introduced i turned to the MC and said this is an internet couple. Sure enough during the maid of honor's speech she said she is now a believer of E-Harmony. The MC looked at me and we both shared a laugh. It's "those" type of people that is intended for internet dating.

For the recycled crowd of divorced people 30's and over it is an easy way to start communicating with no pressure. These people have kids, careers, most likely done with the bar scene, and have little time to go out and hunt. If family and friends have not helped you, where do you go?
Its a great venue to scan in numbers and get results imo. If there were a better way, I would be doing it.

I hate to admit this, but this is the God's honest truth. In high school, I had a Jaguar (my parents loved me). It was the Mark 11. It looked like a Rolls-Royce. I hung leopard-skin prints as curtains in the back seat. I had a fake phone in the car. Drop-down trays (like an airplane) made of walnut in the backseat. It was quite the pimpmobile.
The 50's and 60's were a time when British Leyland made Jaguar and a few other sports cars. Bottom line is that they made beautiful cars that could not run unless you had a mechanic on retainer. But they were all irresistable to me.

Since I met my wife of 28 years through one of those long ago ads, I'd say the new way is likely at least as good as the old way.
Fact is, I did it as a lark and a way to get more pussy. But you never know what might turn up.

Some of my closest female friends, who are goodlooking mind you, use dating sites. They say they do that so they can get to know dudes at their pace and not meet em at bars or sleazy places.

i don't consider myself a dork. i don't drink and i hate smoke. i work. plus i'm a bit shy. so, where and how can i meet women. the internet is fine. you see photos, you converse and see if there is anything in common. so, the internet basically does most of the work. when you're ready you make personal contact. i'm all for it.

I can't tell u how many girls I have met from dating sites - from around the country - definitely approaching 100 - most of the sites suck but I swear by elitemeetmeeting - set up a profile with picks and everyday a girl would want to meet up - and on this site the girls have to be hot or they can't create accounts but if the site doesnt like ur pics (male) then u r going to have to get verified (meaning u make money) - u can still do whatever u like an incorporate this in ur game - can't hurt - I use to fly 2-3 girls into Miami from all around country every month and do u think a girl is coming tomstay with u for a weekend and not bang?
