Ross Detwiler is a former first round pick of the nationals. Ross is a tall power lefty with a very nice fb and a decent curve. His control has been a large issue as it was last year when he really struggled at single A. Ross was moved up to double A this year and has shown a lot of improvement, particularly in his last 10 innings where he has Ked 16 and allowed just 7 hits and 1 ER. Detwiler, however, isn't likely to go deep into the game. If you are thinking of backing him today, and he has the potential to throw a great game, I would recommend a first five play. He has only thrown 5 innings in each of his last 2 starts and the Nats pen, as we all know, is a disaster.
Detwiler will be opposed by Ohlendorf who is only giving up an oppoenents ba of .233 and sports a very solid era of just 3.77 and a w/l record of 4-3. No slouch to this point.
