JK can you ask mr steele why he outs so much effort into talking about the history of positions so much. Example ---he talks about the qbs at Ou all the way back to Josh White---why??? i want to know what the qbs for this season will be like. hope this came out right.

"Listening to National ESPN Radio a few of the hosts are massively in love with Phil Steele's Football Book. I hear guys like Erik Kuselias and Mel Kiper RAVE about it and I know Phil has been on their shows before and many other ESPN ones. How long has this "love affair" been going on with Phil and ESPN Radio? I assume Phil sends them FREE copies because all of the publicity they give his book is worth more than Phil could ever hope to buy and how many books does Phil thinks he sells because of all of the ESPN Radio raves about it."

Phil Steele has a great publication and I read it cover to cover.

JK my only beef is he references the past way too much and should give us more information on the teams depth.

At times it reads as a review instead of a preview with references to positional players from 5-10 years ago.

This is one of my pet peeves as well.

As an example, I picked one team at random, Pitt. Under the title "Position Outlook for 2010", Quarterbacks, Phil starts with Tyler Palko's final year stats for 2006.

Then 3 short sentences about 2007. Another 3 sentences about 2008. Then 4 short sentences about last year. The section ends with 2 short sentences that only said "Sunseri was the clear cut starter out of Spring 2010, has a stronger arm, but will probably not match Stull's '09 numbers.

This is typical of the whole magazine. The position outlooks are almost all history, which can be easily looked up elsewhere, and a real paupacy of information on the current projected starters.

I'd like Phil to respond if possible.
