Really like MIZZOU in this game............and think the line will move in their direction, with Missouri closing a favorite of at least -2.5

I also ike the OVER 46.5 in the game and believe this will go to at least 48 by kickoff if no suspensions/injuries popup.


1. IOWA completely deflated mentally right now............

2. IOWA will have tremendous difficulty with the Tigers passing attack, especially across the middle, which has been the case most of the year with the Hawkeyes..........and will be painfully evident against this Missouri outfit.


Think this game runs the gambit of what all of Iowa's losses this year have been, very close losses.

Missouri is already -1 at some Vegas spots. This is Mizzou's game to win if they do not turn the ball over and give it away. Ferentz is the most overrated coach in the NCAA.

Yes it is, and that is why the Pac 12 is trying to steal it away from the Big 12-2. The Big 12-2 will lose a bowl game or two because they will be reduced to a 10 team conference next season, and you can not have 8 bowl tie-ins with 10 teams in your conference. The Pac 12 gains two teams, and should gain two bowl tie-ins. They already got the meaningless New Mexico Bowl, so now they are hunting for bigger fish. The Insight Bowl, creating another Big 10+2-Pac 12 match up, would be perfect.

Thanks fishhead. Im the eternal pessimist when it comes to Mizzou football so I was looking for an Iowa opinion. I dont usually bet on Mizzou game sides unless I am betting on the other team and I am 2-0 on Mizzou games this year.

I think the game goes well over the total regardless of who wins. already have a bet placed on the over.

A little over a week ago, Derrell Johnson-Koulianos was named first-team All-Big Ten by the conference?s coaches.

Eight days later, the Iowa wide receiver finds himself in the midst of multiple narcotics ?issues?.

According to Marc Morehouse of the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Johnson-Koulianos was arrested by Iowa City Police and charged with multiple counts of possession of controlled substances, keeping a drug house and two counts of unlawful possession of a prescription drugs. He?s currently being held in the county jail ahead of a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday morning.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen said the criminal complaint filed against Johnson-Koulianos showed that police found cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs inside his residence, as well as $3,000 in cash. The senior admitted he had used the drugs, and a subsequent urine test showed he had marijuana and other drugs in his system.

Head coach Kirk Ferentz said he is ?highly disappointed to learn of the charges? and that ?Derrell has been suspended from all team activities.? The Hawkeyes were selected to play Missouri in the Insight Bowl Dec. 28, and it would seem unlikely he would be available given the seeming severity of the charges.

Ferentz is a tough coach when he has time to prepare.I'm not sure about Iowa's ats bowl record,but I'm pretty sure its a winning proposition.

HUGE LOSS for the HAWKEYES......and more players may be involved.

POUND MIZZOU -1 or better, as this line will take off ........sooner or later.

Here are my thoughts........and as you know, I've been wrong before.

I believed that MISSOURI was headed to at least -2.5 BEFORE this DJK incident............and would be completely bewildered if it doesn't go to -3 and higher now.

I've hit the game for a ton this morning(no respect which is par for the course) and the line hasn't moved.......I'm thinking many sportsbooks are still recovering from their Christmas parties(many were last evening). :)

I could write a 10,000 word essay on this latest development, but I'm a terrible writer and plus I have to get back to work.

Im with fish in thinking the line will move to at least 3. So bottomline is you made a good bet.

Not only do they lose their best player(and possibly others)................but this is going to be a HUGE DISTRACTION for the entire Iowa team over the coming days, for coaches and players.

Ferentz, as classy a guy as he is, has had problems in the past with DUI and DRUG use by players...........and couple this with Iowas disappointing 7-5 record this year, and FERENTZ is under heavy pressure right now, as is the entire staff.

I saw the breaking news.I just wouldn't bet a lot against Ferentz with a lot of time to prepare.

The entire staff will be dealing with huge distractions on this latest deveolpment.

DJK is/was one of IOWA's all-time greats..........leading the team in recieving yds four straight years.
