Almost all these posters will be old school, do any new current posters ever have the potential to crack the top 20 all timers in the future?

Well you will see a few of the newer posters on this list. Not many...but definitely a few. Maybe even see one crack the top 5.

Re: Madcapper's Top 20 Forum Posters of Alltime

Yea...why do you think he doesnt do them anymore? He posts plays now...so why not writes? No time?
My only guess would be that Shrink was paying him for his time back then. It had to take hours, I remember 6 and 7 game cards he'd post with several well thought out paragraphs on each game. It was impressive, to say the least.

Which tout was that? He's still posting his plays now.

Well some one brought it here that some tout had all his plays and he looked at it and it was true. The tout finally came here and said someone else was in charge of his baseball plays and did steal them and was fired. That ended his write-ups and picks for a log time.

How many posters were paid by Shrink through the years? Had to be at least 100.

Thats another whole thread though! :LMAO

#17 Winkyduck

Winky has E-slept with more online pictures in his lifetime than Wilt slept with REAL women in his entire life. There is no doubt in my mind that Winky's computer is infested with porn sites and (STD) viruses. If I were him I would never leave my PC out in the open. Whether its Jennifer Korbin, Carrie Underwood, or Tony Montana's wife.... Winky has E-slept with 'em all. But aside from his creepiness (however hard that may be), Winky brings a lot to the table. He knows (or claims to know) the small west coast conferences. It's always good to see him online for that late, chase your losses, West Coast Play....WAC, SWAC, WACK-OFF whatever. But his higher-than-thou act does get a little...err..a lot annoying when he tells you you're a douchebag for wagering on a game you absolutely love just because it moved 1/24th of a point the other way. But despite all his annoying, creepy, nauseating habits, he's still a pretty good read.

I've never read a Winky post in my entire life and thought it was a quality/insightful post but he's stop 20. :yay

Winky isn't one of the top 50 posters on this site currently and the site only has about 30 posters. At least you made it possible to ruin an entire list within the first 3 guys.

Winky:

1. Isn't sharp.
2. Beats women
3. Sounds like a rapist
4. Confirmed #3 is probably true when he threatened to rape someones mom/sister
5. Spends more time on there/their posts than any other posts.
6. Isn't sharp.
7. Get's offended if you call him out for things he admitted to doing... beating women, and threatening to rape someone.

TOP 20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TOP 20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a top 20 of all time, if that really matters, so he might get points for longevity. But to do a list like this, if youre serious you have to know and remember posters from a lot of different forums, which may be difficult. So far none of the 4 listed would make a legit list IMO. But its his list so whatever. Also depends on the criteria. Like legit contributions, comedy relief, sports knowledge. Or a combination of all those and more. My guess would be that the very best wont even be recognized on this list because they werent looking for attention but just posted stuff to benefit people and because they werent controversial or sensational they arent remembered.

my favorite Creepyduck moment...

the time that he said he would rape Mowforme's sister and mom. I think he said with a baseball bat...which should have dropped him out of the top 20 for lack of creativity.

Re: MY TOP 20 FORUM POSTERS OF ALLTIME

Boy, Madcapper is milking this thread. Should have his "Top 20" complete sometime after the 2012 Presidential elections.

The research must be slowing him down.

They have nothing on you Jeff......you've been immortalized
by Jeff Haney a few times in the LVRJ. That's a feat in itself.
A respeced sports writer mentions a anonymous sports message
board curmudgeon (Haney's word) in a paper with decent circulation...

Re: Madcapper's Top 20 Forum Posters of Alltime

That Jeff Haney deserves a Pulitzer.

Seriously, Haney was the best. You knew he was good, because he would explain gambling stuff in his column that we wished he wouldn't explain. And he never had a problem calling out a bad deal and naming the casino. Maybe that's what happened. I don't know. He wrote the best public newspaper gambling column on a consistent basis I've read.

Losing him was just another brick in the wall for the demise of Las Vegas public gambling media since I moved here six years ago. Radio programming has contracted to the point where I only listen to the Cantor boys at night (if I can stay awake that long). And I keep up with Dave Tuley's stuff on his site. But the Las Vegas airwaves and the print media really need a kickstart. Hopefully, JK can provide that.

I'll give it a try beginning August 1.

Haney is one of my favorites. A true consumer advocate. He's a respectful skeptic who knows the gambling market and he's not afraid to tackle the biggest names in the business. I loved when he published the future-book hold percentages for the various sports book operations in Nevada. It was embarrassing for the sports book operators, but enlightening for many beginning gamblers. Haney recently wrote an extensive story published in Las Vegas Weekly on the best blackjack games available today.

I've stated for years and years that there should be some type of regulation regarding futures hold percentage, much like there is with slots.

When working for the old Sands, the futures were basically all handled by myself and consistantly day in and day out they were the best betting futures in the entire valley with the lowest hold percentage.

What's really disgusting is some of these joints, past and present, would list odds on teams that were literally MATHEMATICALLY elminated from winning and they would still take bets on these teams. Now I understand one can state that a player/customer should know better before betting, but it was always my belief that it made a joint look cheesy and disrespectful, if not ignorant and lazy.

Jeff used to post those Haney articles. I enjoyed reading them on a Saturday morning with a cup of coffee. Those articles were top notch.
