David Freese and the St. Louis Cardinals proved the age-old baseball maxim in Game 6 of the World Series with a dramatic, come-from-behind 10-9 victory in 11 innings over the stunned Texas Rangers.

The resilient Cards, trailing on five different occasions (1-0 in the first, 3-2 in the fourth, 4-3 in the fifth, 7-4 in the seventh and 9-7 in the tenth) and down to their last out and last strike not once but twice, forced a decisive Game 7 when NLCS MVP and St. Louis native David Freese homered in the eleventh inning of a memorable but mistake-plagued game.

Tonight's showdown features St. Louis ace Chris Carpenter taking the hill at Busch Stadium against Texas hard-thrower Matt Harrison.

Pinnacle Sports Book is dealing St. Louis as a -132 favorite with a total of 8 runs (under -120).

WORDS FROM A WISEGUY.....Bill Kr<VAR id=yiv1664655206yui-ie-cursor></VAR>ackomberger, aka "Krackman," shared two pieces of sports gambling advice earlier this week when visiting with Ken Thomson of SportsXRadio at the Hard Rock Hotel here in Las Vegas.

"Krackman" revealed a winning strategy he's employed this season in beating the Las Vegas bookmakers.

"I've simply been following the late pointspread moves with college football teams on the added board," said the professional gambler from New Jersey. "It's tough to follow the moves and win, but low-profile college games this season have offered an excellent opportunity because the pointspreads can be 4 to 7 points off the right number."

Krackomberger was more specific with his next piece of gambling advice.

"Bet Kansas City +4 in the Monday night game against San Diego. It's the only game in the NFL I bet early in the week. I like it. I like it a lot."

SUNDAY'S BEST BET.....I'm laying low until the NCAAB season tips off Monday, November 7. Only one play from yours truly this Sunday: Play San Francisco -9 over Cleveland. The dramatic improvement and development of San Francisco quarterback Alex Smith under the tutelage of first-year head coach and 16-year NFL veteran Jim Harbaugh is no coincidence. Smith's passer rating of 95.2 and his clutch fourth-down touchdown strike to Delanie Walker late in the fourth quarter of a Week 6 road win over the Lions are signs of Smith's progress and maturity. Smith has been excellent at handling the blitz this season while Cleveland counterpart Colt McCoy struggles in that area.

COMING MONDAY.....A look at the top ten college football teams in the latest BCS standings.

If one looks at the pointspread history of AFC WEST DIVISION HOME DOGS, they would be amazed!!

It's always an automatic play for me year in and year out....................................

Snared the +4 early on at a couple joints......................sorta of expected Kracklehead to be all over this game early on.........love sharing the same side as him.

Krackman is one of those guys who cannot name ten players or five coaches in the NFL yet always finds himself ahead of the pointspread moves.

Krackman's edge/strength is knowing where the money is going.

This applies to me in the world of basketball....................

Could not name more than three players total for the upcoming 2011-12 CBB season.............and two of them play for Iowa.

Re: My Friday blog

I enjoy reading from guys like Krackman if they are the real deal.

I believe "Krackman" to be the real deal, Tom.

He won the M Resort handicapping contest last year which featured a $100,000 entry fee.

Only seven or eight contestants but the six-figure entry fee was impressive.

I believe it. Some good advice above too.

"I've simply been following the late pointspread moves with college football teams off the added board," said the professional gambler from New Jersey.

JK, sorry to be such an idiot, but what station is your 2-4 p.m. radio show on???

The show airs weekday afternoons from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Pacific time via the Sports Byline USA Network.

We're searching for a local station that will air the live program.

I believe replays of the show can be heard locally in Las Vegas on KSHP 1400 AM.

I'm not sure about the times and dates.

The show can be heard live via the Internet at www.sportsxradio.com.

Thanks for your interest, Jackie Boy.

Re: My Friday blog

John, I thought I'd offer my opinion of the afternoon drive time show, if you don't mind.
As you know I listen to it every day, sometimes archived because of my schedule.

Guests: A very good mix of guests each week. Two thumbs up.

Topics: As long as the show topics have a sports gambling feel to it, I love it. Most the time they do, which is good.

Commercials: Way, way, way too many commercial breaks. Although I don't know the breakdown it just seems that one third of the two hours are commercial breaks.
I almost would rather listen to the show over the archives so I can fast forward through the breaks.

Netto's Numbers: I used to look forward to this spot. Not so much now. His segment is to give similarities between sports "speculating" and the stock market and you guys feed him the questions to answer. He's a sharp guy. I'd rather he break down some matchups on the card and get down into the reasons why he likes certain games. He has the ability to give great analysis.

Overall: I do enjoy the show. I hope it grows and continues to air.
We don't have enough sports gambling shows to listen to.
I have three I won't miss: The drive time 2 hour show, your 10pm and Cantor's midnight hour show.

This applies to me in the world of basketball....................

Could not name more than three players total for the upcoming 2011-12 CBB season.............and two of them play for Iowa.

Is there anything that you are not good at?

Thanks for your appraisal, TP.

I'll forward this review to the powers-that-be at Sports Byline USA.

Hard to disagree with any of your constructive criticism.

No disrespect to the EOG hour but the above show is the best
in town IMO...although EOG lays over 'DC (Cokin) and the Sunshine
Man'.....

I agree with Krackman, I've had KC circled all week. Tough call on cle/SF though, with Buskie on cle+. May be forced to pass. GL as always, JK.12io4j2w90

Re: My Friday blog

Wasn't it George Wallace at the Flamingo that has the best show in town? It's so hard to keep up.

Thanks for checking in, Squarepants.

Wallace's show is promoted as the best 10 p.m. show in Las Vegas.

I never liked that guy.

My NFL opinion is suspect, at best.

You may want to rely on Buskie, Mike.

Sportsbetting and/or gamblng??

Yes

Lifetime loser betting the sports of GOLF, TENNIS and DARTS(believe I'm up on every other sport, but may be forgetting one or two).

Gambling.............small lifetime loser at Craps, Horses, pitching pennies, Caribbean Stud, Let It Ride, and a few other things.

Thanks for asking, hope you had a profitable Saturday, I didn't.

Was a takeoff on your on-air bit with David Glisan. I rarely go to shows by people that I've never heard about outside of Las Vegas, including this one.

Thanks for noticing my pointspread winner, no matter how narrow.

I appreciate your recognition of my handicapping prowess more than your reporting of my Saturday afternoon whereabouts (Arizona Charlie's).

I like to follow you both, JK, which made it a tough call. Wound up going very small on cle knowing your self-professed mixed results in the NFL. Nice call, you did 'win' me money by reducing my bet size on cle.12io4j2w90

Even though I live in Thailand, I still have contacts all over Vegas....there are a few more dumps than Arizona Charlies(like the places Meaty lives in) but not very many...good luck with next weeks games...

Re: My Friday blog

It was a good pick. Wish I followed along, got crushed with my 0-2.... Like Munson knowing your self-professed mixed results in the NFL I decided to just pass. But I recall ComputerBob being rather anti Cleveland, he made a comment on the show that indicated to me he had them ranked alot lower than others and I almost punched the ticket. Damn

Re: My Friday blog

In seven games this season, the lowly Cleveland Browns have scored a total of three points in the first quarter and six points in the third quarter.

San Francisco held the Browns scoreless in both the first and third quarters yesterday at Candlestick.

Re: My Friday blog

It was that pesky 4th quarter that almost bit you in the ass, JK.:LMAOSorry, couldn't resist, I know you're a dog player, and I surmise that part of the reason you are is to avoid the dreaded 'back-door covers' that are the chalk players bane.

LOL. What is that? We don't get the Bangkok Times.

Trust me. I live in Las Vegas. We don't have any contacts in Thailand.

If you're down to whacking Arizona Charlies half way around the world, it does get a little stupid.

And 3x points on Thursdays and a free drink refill!!!
