Re: The Clippers are exciting while they Lakers are....
Lakers will be a lottery team. If they dont get Howard for free that is. Especially now that Kobe is down.
If he is out for 2 weeks thats going to be 9 games, they could go 2-7 there pretty easily, even with Bynum back for 4 of them.
Lakers are slow, old, and in a system they dont get. The only reason they even looked decent was because Blake hit 5 3's. Which is only going to happen once in a blue moon. Without that they get beat by 20. And Bynum played out of his mind. Which also isnt going to happen more than half the time. They turn the ball over, they have zero depth, And Kapono looks like a complete waste despite so called experts calling him a steal.
As for the Clippers, I am not sure if people are saying they dont have depth, but if you are youre retarded. Gomes is good and will only get better especially if they mix line ups a little bit and throw him in there with Paul. Williams is old but he still has the shot which is all they need from him. Cook is as serviceable a center as anyone has and he is the back up, the beauty of a league with no quality big men. Foye is also right on point with other guys at that position in the league, so off the bench he is a quallity player. Again in a mix matches line up he probably improves. Not to mention Bledsoe who was good as a rookie and hasnt played yet due to injury. So once he comes back who knows.
The Clippers only question marks are on defense. And their front court the most obvious point. Starters included. But offensively they should create enough opportunities that even mediocre defense should be enough to be more than competitive. Theyre probably not title good on either side but in a short year who knows, they are young and if they mesh and Jordon learns how to play basketball they could be a major shocker.
Seriously when you look at the lakers without a fanboy attitude you have to see the abortion they are. Clippers have nothing but upside.
The only thing is Clipper fans have to worry about a plane crash or Paul or Griffen getting shot by a sniper somewhere. Because it seems like Clippers never catch a break. So it is a mtter of time to them probably. But assuming avoiding any disasters going forward they look really really good for at least the next 5-6 years. Which in the market theyre in should lead to perpetual success. As they will be the destiation like the lakers used to be to come to LA and play for a perennial contender with 2 young stars.
