also, they knew that Marshall wouldn't be able to get along with Manning. The whole thing was done as an incentive for Manning to join the Dolphins.

I agree, although I believe Miami won this. Time and again teams with with players with good character, Miami shipped off a bad character guy, and got 2 draft picks. Well done by Miami.

Yeah, that's what people said when Oakland traded Moss to the Pats too. The Bears have strong leadership - some of the strongest in football. Not only that, but Cutler loves Marshall and has said so countless times.
No doubt the Dolphins did this to go all-in for Manning. Manning wants his guys, or someone like Fitz - anyone that thinks that Peyton gives a shit about DeMaryus Thomas is kidding themselves.
Dolphins did this to open up cap space to sign Wayne and Manning.
It's a steal for the Bears because the Dolphins needed to move him quickly. Only way it's a + for the Phins is if they get Manning.

The Bears don't need Marshall? Jesus Christ, maybe watch the team and games before commenting. Cutler has no receivers - the Bears have the worst receiving core in football easily.

bears have good defense they got a good WR maybe they need a better QB and sign Peyton

Brandon Marshall is very inconsistent. Over the last couple years he dropped 5+ touchdown passes. On one play against the Jets I believe on MNF he simply ran out of bounds for no reason with a wide open field ahead of him. I put as much stock into player stats in the Pro Bowl as I do in preseason. It's meaningless.
That said, I think his previous relationship with Cutler will help keep him in line and he should be productive for Chicago. As for Miami, the guy was involved in all types of off-field garbage like getting stabbed by his wife and then coming out with a personality disorder. It should be a win-win trade for both teams.

Some good posts by TH here. Bears were 7-3 with Cutler. Now they have a #1 receiver, their best OL back from injury, Forte back from injury. They need another pass rusher to go with Peppers.

I love how people forget how much people are paid with a cap. All depends on what Miami does with the cash and who they get with the picks. Marshall not as dynamic as most think. No problem getting rid of him as a Miami fan, but they need to replace him with some type of speed at wide. Could be a cheap upgrade.

Marshall was at Marquee early Sunday when he got into an argument with a group of friends celebrating a birthday, law-enforcement sources said.
Around 4 a.m., birthday girl Christin Myles, 24. left an upper floor to greet a friend downstairs.
When Myles tried to get back upstairs, a bouncer told her she had to wait because there was a fight between two football players — Marshall, 27, and an unknown athlete — who were being thrown out of the club, the sources said.
She later met up with her friends, who were arguing with the NFL bad boy and the other football player outside.
Marshall — who earned his nickname with his aggressive style of play — then allegedly cold-cocked Myles in the left eye. She suffered a black eye. It wasn’t clear if he allegedly intended to strike her or one of her pals.
Myles filed a police report.
A lawyer for Marshall — who was traded by the Miami Dolphins yesterday to the Chicago Bears — told The Post that the fight did not involve Marshall or his friends.
“While attempting to leave to avoid the melee [Marshall’s wife] was struck in the face by a thrown bottle. She suffered serious injury.
While attempting to leave and take his wife to the hospital, the mayhem continued outside. Mr. Marshall is hoping to assist authorities in regards to this matter."
Police said the only report filed about that night names Marshall as a perpetrator.
Marshall’s rep declined to deny whether he threw a punch or say whether he attempted to file a police report about his wife’s injuries.
Sources said the Bears weren’t aware of the incident.
The melee came less than a year after Marshall was rushed to a Florida hospital after his wife allegedly stabbed him.
Marshall, who’s been busted at least six times, was involved in a New Year’s Eve 2006 fight in Denver that led to a teammate being fatally shot in a drive-by.

I've noticed a lot of people recently have been using the word "core" in place of "corps," especially when talking about the WR corps. The word "core" means "the central, innermost, or most essential part of anything." Corps, on the other hand, means "a group of persons associated or acting together."
The word "corps" has been used often when describing units on a football team, much like it's used to describe the Marine Corps. Many people mistake the word for "core" because they are pronounced the same way, making them homophones.
Bears need help at the position, confusing to me because they typically ship out troubled players, not bring it in....
