We want to welcome BetOnSports.com to EOG.com

The General

Another Day, Another Dollar
There has been great debate about BOS recently and many shared various opinions. I shared mine and we listened to yours. After consideration, we have chosen to bring the sports book on as an advertiser at EOG.com. The critical question was simply, "Will I recommend them to my friends if asked?" and my answer was Yes. We will be visiting BOS in April to further see how this operation works and is handled. I expect some negative feedback once again, but there is no question that I have received no more complaints concerning BetOnSports the last 4 years than many other sports books you may list in your top 5.

Posters, check em' out @ www.betonsports.com/?ads=eog_txt If you like what you see and send some cash for a trial, tell them EOG sent you & let us know how you like what they offer.

If you have any troubles, let us know. Looking forward to the feedback.

With that said, WELCOME to EOG.com, BetOnSports.

Don't knock it until you try it..

Bottom line they are under new mgmt and they are a pubically traded company. I would say they are more financially solid than most books.

Hopefully they continue to do well under this new mgmt!

BOS is now here here here?

I have nothing against them but after the Shrink pounded them I thought Shrink had some issues with them.

Please say we will not lose Pinny here!

Mods?

The relationship between The Shrink and Pinny goes back many years so I doubt you will see any changes.

Glaken

Pinny probably advertises here free anyways since Ken and H are soo close so I doubt they would kick a gift horse in the mouth

I already took a stand on BoS when they were added to The Prescription so I will not do it again here. If people want to post up with them, it is their choice. Likewise, if they have advertising money to spend then let them advertise.

Regardless of the new management team, I still see it difficult for them to regain customers who left pissed off over the years at them. Even though they have been one of the marketing hype leaders in the industry, at this point there are so many other places to bet with now. What can they really do any differently than other books out there at this point to attract people? They may be good at still getting the nieve college kid that sees their ad on a trash can somewhere, but so are Bodog and sportsbook.com.

At the very least, I think there is at least a chance of more objective discussion about BoS here on EOG than on The Prescription. Rather than jumping down your throat and putting you on post delay like they do at The Prescription now, I see this as a chance for people to objectively keep each other up to date with good and bad experiences.

I'd also like to officially welcome BET ON SPORTS as well as MILLENIUM. It's been a long time coming; for I had been one of BOS'S harshest critics in the PAST...

However, there were several factors that persuaded me to accept them here with the other hand chosen sports books I consider to be amongst the ELITE in this industry...

Being a PUBLICALLY TRADED COMPANY does not necessarily lend its name to HONOR, INTEGRITY or SOLVENCY as we only have to look at what happened to ENRON. However, it's certainly one layer of protection because when managed properly, a publicly traded company has to report to its Board of Directors and shareholders.

BET ON SPORTS does exactly that...

There are several MAIN reasons why I have a change of heart (besides the fact that they did pay to be on here, like everyone else).

1-I am now 100% certain that GARY KAPLAN & NORM (TOM MILLER) are no longer involved with BET ON SPORTS & MILLENIUM respectively IN ANY CAPACITY...

2-The NEW MANAGEMENT of BOS has gone out of their way to answer any questions I asked of them. (I am also working behind the scenes to help straighten up some of the MESS that the OLD MANAGEMENT under Gary K, left behind them)...

3-There have been ZERO complaints sent to EOG since our inception...

4-They have agreed to allow either the General or myself intervene on behalf of ANY player who has a dispute, period...

5-I have an account with them and several of my Friends do too. ALL of us have been much happier since the change in management took place...

Does this excuse or exonerate what happened under the OLD FLAGSHIP?

I think NOT.....

But, I feel confident that if you give BOS or MILLENIUM a shot, you will be satisfied and notice a change...

While some other sports books were rejected (BETUS, ROYAL, etc, even BOS & MILLENIUM were too at one time) because they did not meet our stringent criteria here on EOG...

I have seen NO IMPROVEMENT over there in years, and to compete in today's environment, one must be focused and creative, a couple of qualities that he surely lacks...

As for EOG, we will IMPROVE, and I will be the first to admit we can do better...

As far as BOS is concerned, I wish JOHN hadn't nailed it because it was entertaining to hear these conspiracy theories.

Anyone wth half a brain should know I don't need BOS'S business bad enough to compromise the INTEGRITY of this site...

Otherwise, ROYAL, BETUS and some others would be on EOG too, but hey, they aren't...

Hmmmmm.....

FOR A MINUTE I THOUGHT THIS BOS ON BOARD STUFF WAS A JOKE.. THANKS FOR THE POST SHRINK.. YOU ANSWERED ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT I WAS THINKING ABOUT.. NOW I DONT HAVE TO ASK YOU WHY BOS IS ON HERE..

Shrink,

Could you do a search and find that email that you sent to Norm of Millenium shortly before opening? The one where you told him that you had to publically denounce the BOS group but that you would slide Millenium in there in 6 months or so. Thanks bro. Or Maybe Sleeper Hold has it in his files and will post it? That was some fine comedy and also quite prescient.

I, for one, can look in the mirror each day, knowing that every sports book that we accepted AD REVENUE from is amongst the VERY BEST that this industry has to offer...

Am I GREEDY because I didn't see EYE TO EYE with the current management at THERX?

Am I GREEDY because there isn't a snowball's chance in HELL that BOS or ROYAL would ever have reappeared on a site that I managed?

Am I GREEDY fo refunding MIllenium back their money due to it's affiliation with BOS?

NO ONE can DISPUTE the HIGH LEVEL of QUALITY found amongst ALL of our sports books on EOG, period...

Can RX or MW say this, too?

SHRINK AND GENERAL,

good move taking BOS. you guys are going to be very impressed by what you see in april when you visit them.

after several years, and management changes, i think keeping an open mind and realizing bet on sports needed to be reevaluated shows that you guys are smart enough to change with the industry.

Actualy RPM, it depends on how you define safe. If SAFE means that a sports book could pay out all that they owe at one time, I doubt we'd even have 15 on our list. And to be honest, I highly doubt 15 of them could be trusted with 6 figure deposits... So given all of this, I believe it is better to be SAFE (pun intended) than sorry (greedy)...

I am quite certain there will be TROUBLE SOON because the sports books have had a BAD FOOTBALL season. At least when that happens (and it will), I highly doubt EOG will have one of those books on its site, period...

Yes, I could be making more money by taking sports books such as BETUS, ROYAL, BOS, MILLENIUM, and a few others that have requested to advertise on EOG, but then it would go against everything I am trying to foster with this new venture...

I thought long and hard before posting this thread. If I had wanted to cheat the IRS, I certainly wouldn't have insisted on using WIRES since they are traceable.

The purpose of my post is to WARN gamblers who bet offshore to be CAREFUL before sending money to BOS/MILLENIUM.

Just because they are located in Costa Rica doesn't mean that they are ABOVE the LAW...

If anyone can relate to this, I am sure Russ from MW & John from SBR can. Hopefully, other watchdog sites will rally behind anyone of us who gets threatened like this, but we'll see...

I have a large and close FAMILY that I CHERISH dearly. It is my RIGHT to do whatever I deem necessary to PROTECT THEM...

In retrospect, I am more sure now than I was before that OMITTING MILLENIUM/BOS from this website was the RIGHT thing to do, not just for me and my family, but for the many posters who value my opinion...

BetonSports visit report

</TH></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=left><!-- Article Contents-->I couldn't refrain to think of the BetonSports founder, Gary Kaplan, and the owner of the later acquired Millenium, Tom Miller, as I walked into the gaming giant's offices located inside mall San Pedro in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The thought of these two strong and controversial personalities, both known within the industry for their unusual and sometimes unfair behaviors towards players and their own personnel, somehow clouded my mind. My mental preparedness to the worst rapidly dissolved the minute I walked into the book's premises.

Kaplan is long gone. Officially out of the industry. Unofficially still involved, if one listens to circulating rumors according to which he is main man behind igotsportsbook.com.

Millenium's Tom Miller is also gone. BetonSports PLC recently bought him out. His office empty, vacated a couple of weeks ago.

Visiting sports books premises is one of the milestones of the set of evaluation criteria that leads to assess an objective rating of any given operation. I have personally visited over 70 operations in the last 12 months. Size doesn't matter. Small, medium or large is not an evaluation criteria. The overall atmosphere is. The way clerks work and the way management interacts with them is.

BetonSports is by far the largest operation I ever visited.

I was given the privilege to visit all floors, talk to management, most important to look in on key departments and listen to middle management and clerks busy with their daily tasks.

My mind was prepared to perceive an overall average performance level, given the size of this operation. I was wrong. Each unit I visited, from Poker and Casino customer service, to the sportsbook's customer service, to ticket writing claims department, to sales, shared the same common denominator: a clear focus on customer satisfaction aimed to maximize and ensure a well above average retention ratio.

The philosophy of BetonSports British upper management permeates every single corner of this well oiled machine. The old times, the questionable business practices, the lack of customer care are gone forever.

Given what I saw I could finally understand what led Marty Jensen, the owner of The Prescription, to guarantee each sign up with BetonSports through his Web site up to $10,000. I would have done the same, had I been in his shoes.

The visit also presented the opportunity to ask management about an old controversy related to Kaplan's times. BoS founder and former owner omitted to disclose the sizeable liability to incoming British management at the time the book went public.

This doesn't mean that new management isn't interested in pursuing closure. However they certainly don't feel responsible for an undisclosed liability. It is my understanding that new management group is in the position to strongly suggest Gary Kaplan into doing the right thing or possibly pressure him to reach a viable settlement. Its was Kaplan's unfair decision, it was his omission, it's his mess. He has to solve it.

I walked into BetonSports offices with a clouded mind. I left their premises with an absolute certainty: BetonSports is a new company, with all the numbers to become a market leader. Its not about the premises, its not about its size. Its about the spirit that permeates its personnel, from top management down to the last clerk. The spirit of a winning team.

sleeper,

Though a little irked myslef methinks you have some reading comprehension problems or just a woody for Ken...

Ken's problems (one might say fury) with BOS/Millenium stemmed from Kaplan and Miller. I speak from firsthand experience on some things, a few of which never were made public. But, there were enough that did. Miller's emails to Ken at the start of EOG are one example.

With them gone so are his problems.

Slam away, but you are just making a fool out of yourself... then again, it is entertaining.

i trust the shrink and general pete. if they say bet on sports and milenium are ok, then i will play there. i have no doubt that part of reason to take these books was money but i dont think any amount of money could buy these guys if they thought it meant players would get stiffed.
