Bushay quite a character...have chatted with him many times...he once set me up with a Thai girl from Bangkok....haven’t got even with him yet... hahahahaha...He keeps saying that he will make it to Thailand one day...I’m still waiting.....lol

i told them how the shrink took all of us down to the atlantis and the many bashes i attended over at the other place .

Had that Mongolian BBQ — very good. Had crab legs on there last night.
I thought sportsbook was really nice. Like a Vegas book. Nice bar in area with tabletop gaming machines. Only thing strange is not setup to take bets in that area (have to walk around the corner - not in TV area). They’ll probably add Kiosks in area when it’s legalized.

Everything points to the Governor veto'ing the bill. She believes that it will take too much away from the lottery, which benefits the schools. In my opinion, those who play the lottery are a very different type of person who would place sports bets.

Joe and Charlie. 2 class acts and good guys. I enjoyed my time with these guys last night and hope to do it again soon. Maybe when Michigan gets legal. The cocktail waitress told us they spent $8M on the sportsbook alone. I had not been to this casino in a few years and was very impressed from my first couple of visits. The Sportsbook is beautiful. I can't wait to go back again. Next time Mr. B. Joe put a hurting on a big bowl of Mongolian BBQ and then came back with [2] buckets of crab legs! ha! Weren't as sweet as the last couple times I've been to Red Lobster but no complaints. It's 3PM now the next day and I'm still full. 
. I can't hang like I used to and slept till 11 am this morning. Very enjoyable night. You need to come with Joe next time John. As many books as you've been in over the years I'm sure you would have also been impressed. Afterall. This was still Detroit. If you have not been to Detroit in a while you may be shocked at how they transformed the downtown area. Next time maybe a Red Wing or Tiger game guys.

I visited Detroit a few years ago and I was shocked by the number of liquor stores and boarded-up buildings.
Parts of the city also lacked street lights which made some of the sketchy neighborhoods sketchier.
I was told by an employee in one of the downtown casinos to take a cab or Uber at night instead of walking.

Oh yes. Like most major cities, you still need to keep to the well-lit areas. I live in the burbs 6 miles from the 8-mile border but worked in the city for close to 30 years and I may be more comfortable than most maneuvering around that city, especially at night, but even I know the areas my guard is up more than others. I remember our company had a police sergeant come in and brief us sales guys on some of the more obvious tips. The best one that stuck out to me as you don't want to be walking around looking for quarters as you're going through the city. I was one of the only guys on the sales force that was never stuck up. I like to credit that sergeant's advice along with keeping my head on a swivel so to speak. I witnessed a lot of crime over the years including driving upon a dead body one morning on the way to my first stop. A huge difference between the downtown and neighborhood areas though. Like night and day. Downtown Detroit is alive again. It really is a hell of a transformation if you're last memory of Detroit was a bad one.

I lived in a small town in Illinois 20k people. I sold the house after raising our kids and we had to replace all the door handles because we couldn't find any keys.....we never even thought about locking our doors at night or if we left the house.
Things are sure different now.....we never realized how blessed and lucky we were to live in a very low crime area.....we thought that was normal.

JK, out of curiousity, what year were you here? Bushay is correct, the downtown area is totally different now. All the city lights have been replaced too with the LED lights...much brighter. I go downtown frequently. I have no fears of walking around, plenty to do and experience. The transformation has been amazing, but they still have a long way to go.
