Johnny Avello had good lines at the wynn when he was there. Does draft kings have a mobile app for vegas ?

Not yet as best as I understand, with this move likely being a step toward that direction. The RJ has an article about it, but I didn't go behind the paywall, etc.

Boston-based daily fantasy sports contest provider DraftKings has opened an office in Las Vegas.
But don’t expect to place a bet or play fantasy sports in Nevada through the company anytime soon.
President and co-founder Matt Kalish and DraftKings race and sports director Johnny Avello welcomed guests to the office at Town Square Wednesday where 70 employees work and more than 300 will be in place in the months ahead.

The company moved in Monday, establishing a back-of-the-house call center dedicated to customer experience, fraud, casino, sportsbook traders, human resources and information technology. When fully operational, the DraftKings’ Las Vegas office will be the second largest in the country behind the Boston operation.
Local employees will handle customer inquiries around the clock. The company currently offers its sports-betting app in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, New Hampshire and West Virginia with physical retail sportsbooks in New Jersey, New York, Iowa and Mississippi.

Kalish indicated the company hasn’t determined how it intends to pursue a retail outlet or become licensed to operate in Nevada, instead focusing on growing the company’s presence.
Unlike other states, Nevada requires an individual to appear in person to sign up to establish a mobile gaming account and DraftKings’ hasn’t done that, but has options with agreements in other states with Caesars Entertainment Corp. and Penn National Gaming Inc.
Avello, a longtime sportsbook director at Wynn Las Vegas, joined DraftKings in October 2018. Avello’s Las Vegas team includes sportsbook personnel that formerly worked at other Las Vegas resorts.
Known for his entertaining odds on the Academy Awards, Avello indicated New Jersey plans to post odds on the Hollywood awards show in the next few days.
DraftKings leases flexible workspace from WeWork at Town Square and Kalish and Avello showed off the multiple work areas new employees can move into as the company expands.
DraftKings has been interested in operating in Nevada for nearly five years.
The state Gaming Control Board, acting on an opinion issued by former Attorney General Adam Laxalt in 2015, determined that daily fantasy sports contests are a form of gambling and regulators said that required DraftKings and its smaller rival, FanDuel, to be licensed to operate sports pools in the state. Representatives of both companies unsuccessfully tried to persuade the Nevada Gaming Policy Committee to recommend establishing a special fantasy sports license to the Nevada Legislature.

Since then, DraftKings announced a multi-state partnership with Caesars last February. Under terms of that agreement, Caesars is offering DraftKings market access for its online gaming products, subject to passage of applicable laws and the parties securing applicable gaming licenses.
Caesars has an exclusive marketing agreement with the National Football League, which has endorsed fantasy sports as a skill game and not gambling.
When New Jersey adopted sports wagering in 2018, DraftKings introduced the mobile DraftKings Sportsbook and became the market leader in its first months of operation as the state’s first mobile provider. By December 2019, FanDuel had surpassed DraftKings by gross gaming revenue.

DraftKings’ partnership with Caesars could result in new growth in the months ahead with Caesars on the verge of merging with Reno-based Eldorado Resorts Inc. Once the companies combine in a proposed $17.3 billion deal that already has been approved by shareholders of both companies, the new Caesars would operate nearly 60 properties in 18 states, many of them that allow sports wagering. Regulatory approval is still required from the Federal Trade Commission and several state gaming regulators.
The deal is expected to close in the first half of this year

DraftKings model shook up Las vegas and offshore with their off the wall numbers. They take some serious positions on games . Sometimes you bet against their number, a point off the market wins leaves you scratching your head & adjusting your numbers quick.

When Avello and myself were setting odds at the Sands together, we shaded numerous, numerous games in all sports........also dealt -108 football lines

DK has a very strong line making roster in place currently.

Not sure if in favor of them opening up in Nevada for sportsbetting or not........................

I doubt they want to enter the NV market as is. They might acquire someone to get access to it, but the restrictive rules and the fact that DraftKings was never formally legal in the state means they get minimal value from it and will have to spend a lot to get up to a competitive level.

Is Draftkings of the same model as William Hill in that they will be a sportsbook in a 7-11 like model of just having a ticket writers desk or do they actually have a sportsbook area for viewing?

could be the new "lean, bet elsewhere" type of situation. they take a stand and aren't afraid to show it.

This model with lots of kiosks to replace ticket writers is the model you see just about everywhere outside of Nevada and Mississippi. Books don't matter much, everything is online for a reason.

I am a big fan of the kiosk idea. wish they would have more of them as the lines before nfl games start are insane. i'm pretty sure, don't have any hard numbers to back it up, but i would believe there is a lot of money that doesn't make the counter in these rush times that a kiosk would soak up.

i see them at william hill shops around town but usually only a couple. I'd like to see a full wall of them.

Looking for a definitive answer to this question, anyone?

Don Best does a poor Job letting subscribers know which sportsbooks are in which state. The info from from playMississippi.com and PlayPa.com. could be an answer. Asking DB customer service got me nowhere. .. If you have the screen which is the next step I went to. Nothing matches using DB program to Draftkings in new jersey. The question is there another Draftkings on the screen ???? Remember Draftkings New jersey the lines are delayed on DB screen from Draftkings site in NJ

I wonder if the draftkings in vegas is going to allow big big limits that they seem to be taking big bets across the country.

Rhode Island has a bunch of kiosks (many 20?).. there’s some good and bad things. The limit is $500, but you can obviously bet the same game over and over since it doesn’t ask for ID or anything. It’s also a lot easier to pick up shitty lines.. and believe me, there are a lot of them.

bad thing is, the wait/lines can be shitty. They offer live betting on everything here (all nba, all nhl, nfl, and many college games each night), so some people just stand at the same kiosk for a long time, trying to pick off bad live numbers. Can be very annoying.

There is probably a reason why they did not go to vegas at first. They know what type of an ocean already... Very warm filled with a bunch of sharks. They tested the other markets first
then they grade each market vs. the Nevada market.

NV told them to stay away basically, they wanted no part of DFS and until they started staffing for sports mainly they had lack compliance and could have been prosecuted in a few states. I still think they would rather buy into the NV market instead of building from scratch.

NYC just turned down sports betting … so Draftkings will have to wait to open at Madison Square garden for now.

Supposedly they took Charles Barkley's $100k bet on NBA POR future...

That's some kind of exposure...
