There will only be 6 players maximum on the crap tables...

There will be only three players at a blackjack table....

All employees will wear masks....

Every other slot machine will be shut down.....

Wonder how long this will last and will other casinos follow this model?

don't worry as soon as there are too many players the great wall of B.S. will come down & the masks come off.

They will all follow the model until they realize revenues are not meeting projections.

None of this bothers me. Actually might prefer it. I don't like being close to people anyway.

Will not be wearing a mask though. So if any games require them, it will be El Paso for me on those.

I think there was even guidelines on how to smoke and drink while wearing your mask at a casino! I can see masks catching on fire from cigs which in turn will cause all sorts of other issues, lol

I wont go to any casino that requires a mask, will likely cost them a lot of money, LOL.

The guidelines I've seen published by most casinos that are opening, don't require a mask. I wouldn't go in if they did either.

I won't mind if they require one on table games I wouldn't play anyway.

Poker tables won't be viable until they allow at least 7 handed.

They are purposing 4 handed tables.

That won't fly for the public.

It would literally kill the live game.

Hopefully this expands quickly to at least 7.

Wynn and Sands said you have to wear a mask, Caesars and MGM said its "recommended". I'm guessing most players will be wearing them day one but you will be just fine going without.

The shields are ideas that have been demonstrated at a number of places, but they will be only here or there. The idea sounded good on paper, but when managers and potential customers saw them there was total horror so don't expect to see them much and for them to come down quickly. Another point that came out is only 4 people on a poker table. Almost no one will want to play 4 handed so don't expect poker rooms back any time soon.

Lastly, I don't think every other slot being shut down will happen much and won't last long. Acres built a system that can block neighboring machines from being played which is probably the best idea if they really want to keep people from playing next to each other. Otherwise, they can just ask people not to sit next to a machine getting played. If you say you have to turn off half the machines there will be pissed off customers saying you shut off my favorite machine or claim that they shut down the loose machines or the one that was about to pay off (all myths, but they still have traction with slot players). I don't think the gaming regulators thought that one through well.

Wynn and Sands said you have to wear a mask

This straight off the Wynn Las Vegas website this morning:

Face Coverings. Employees are required and guests will be asked to wear appropriate masks or face coverings2 , which will be provided by the resort. At management’s discretion guests may be allowed to remove their face covering when other safety protocols are available. Guests may be required to briefly lower face coverings for identification purposes in compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.

Will be asked. That doesn't mean required. They use required for employees and asked for guests. I guess that's open to interpretation. By design?

Poker rooms have been vastly oversized due to the decline in popularity, however if you split the same game 5 handed it at least occupies more room space table wise.

They will be making a ton of money just by selling mask. Hell, I went to a casino store to buy beef jerky and sales girl said are you sure you want 2. $12 a bag. no prices on any of products at these stores

I get your point, but I’m sure they’ll be handing masks out for free, 1 per customer, for players who otherwise pass the entrance criteria.
And yes, gift stores are very costly, but most purchases are with comps or players club points.

The WSOP could be a thing of the past.

No way there is enough people that would want to play every event 6 handed and there isn't enough space to get enough tables to cover this.

But then again cutting events would be a great thing. No reason there are 100+ bracelet events each year (when you combine WSOP Vegas and WSOP Europe plus online events).

How about the different football contests having the the contestants making the plays on an app instead of waiting in a line?

Could for sure see that happening.

Might kill that hidden juice that the sportsbooks are hoping for when you come to put in your plays as there is a percent that hit a machine, the tables, or make a bet in that weekly trip.

but I think you are right that this is going to happen for this upcoming season.

It'll kill the business of the runners who would put plays in for out of towners.

Right, but if 50% of the people use their app to place picks, its still something.

I agree with you FW.

The proxy business has a limited lifespan but is very much needed right now. It isn't going to change until a sportsbook operator expands across the country where it will be easier for a person to drive to that casino chain to put in their plays and that is probably a decade or more away (the legalization across the country has to happen first, then casino expansion).

These contests will eventually be super charged with top prizes in the $4M-$7M range. MASSIVE!

Until then the VegasMatts and KellyinVegas proxy services have merit and are needed.

Couldn’t you just use a VPN?

I'm sure that the sportsbooks will block this. They will have it written in the rules that if you are found to be using a VPN that your entry or entries will be voided without refund. If you win a prize that would be voided and redistributed to the other place winners.

I am simply using some thinking that online poker sites view VPNing. You can get away with it in the short term. It becomes a problem when you IP address keeps changing to difference locations/countries.

But each person takes a gamble like this based on what they want to accomplish.

Gamblers may not have much choice when it comes to cash games.

Nevada sportsbooks only allow mobile app access so using a VPN doesn't apply. NJ sportsbooks allow mobile apps as well as PCs with USB (GPS based) "dongles" that locate your computer within the state, so your IP derived address "location" isn't relevant.

Offshore books which use browser access can be susceptible to VPNs to spoof a different location, but usually some proof of residency is required, e.g for a non-US account.

In Colorado there are no dongles or anything extra for bets placed by browser on a computer. You have to download Geocomply to your browser and then it asks you to get rid of any active VPN. It even made me get rid of GoToMeeting. But once cleared it finds location in seconds by IP
