Yes a bad infection. I'm diabetic and have neuropathy. It started as a blister on the bottom of my foot just below the little toe. I didn't feel it and didn't know I had a wound. For at least 2 weeks I was walking and jogging. It became infected and spread to the top of my left foot. I began running a fever that spiked to 103. After 5 days of no eating I called 911 and was taken to the emergency room. 1st night in hospital my kidneys were failing and doctor thought he might have to amputate if infection spread to my bone. Day 2 my kidneys recovered to normal, my fever went away and doctor cut away as much of the infection as possible. You can see bone and tendons. Thankfully the bone wasn't infected and so far my foot was saved. I had 2 more procedures done on my wound during an 11 day hospital stay. Went from hospital to assisted living for another 2 months, with a wound vac attached to the wound. Than home nurse care for a month before I was able to get back to work. It was a non weight bearing wound so at assisted living I used a wheelchair and walker. The positive is my weight went from 268 to 240. I now have to take 3 shots of insulin a day. I was very fortunate to receive great care and medical attention. It's been a long journey.

I was going to ask if BR was diabetic. Foot and circulation issues are common. Very fortunate they didn’t amputate that foot, or go into a sepsis shock. BOL in the recovery.
