they are not worried about defeat. The US already said they do not want to beat Vlad in the war. They think he would use a small nuke to win if backed in a corner.. What they really want is russia to go broke and he gets replaced.

I doubt russia would go west of the dneiper, BUT they will take odessa - that would be the flashpoint, it would completely cut off ukraine from the sea and result in ukraine being an unimportant landlocked poor state - russia would have 70% of ukraines GDP for example.

Many of my good sources for Ukraine info are being suspended by twitter, now that it's apparent the ukrainians are losing badly the full panic is on to hide the truth. Luckily just as the russians have unlimited weapons, there are plenty of twitter sources. Hiding the truth is impossible.
