that is why most contests have a minimum number of posts people must have to get into them

they have plenty of posts, because 99% of their posts are contest related.

MCP I agree... and we have many Posters here who are active that only play in Free contests...NO post ups.....

The minimum post thingy is hard to find a happy Medium..as you want newer Members to get active and post...but you also want them to be able to get in the contests.... and as always quality is better than quantity....and 50 great insiteful posts like a Fezzik or someone has is alot better than garbage or one or two word posts.... but the thing is...how do you decide what is good, bad, indifferent, etc.... opens up a whole new can of worms you don't want to get involved in. We have struggled with trying to do what is right...but you will always have your contest whores...and hopefully the more they are in the more comfy they will get to start posting and become a good Poster..

What's really lame are the dudes who start threads in the Dump and post shit like "hi" 300 times so then they have a high enough post count to participate in the contests.

if you go to the dump and check people that are posting numerous times you will see there post count stays the same.so they don't get numerous posts for saying hi in the same forum

Move the post minimum around...............100 minimum , 200, a special one with a minimum 500 or 1000 here and there once in awhile, etc.

The minimum won't do any good just takes alittle long for someone to say good point or nice ass in a post. This doesn't effect me much but if it bugs management/books the next step would clearly be having contests for poster who not only have opened an account at a book but have funded at the book atleast even for a small amount like $100.

I play in some contests but not all of them. I would not fund some of these shit books so yeah let only the posters that fund a particular book play in that contest. I bet you would have the same winner's week after week. I love to play the BetJM contests because they may it fun to watch a game that nite no matter how much you got on the game and they actually help me handicap a game, once i start looking at the stats and all and i actually fund my account there.Don't hold it against anybody for playing a contest and not posting much. It took me a while before i started posting at times. if you don't enjoy posting then don't. Remember these are just games.
