An upcoming vote in FL might be the beginning of the end of dog racing...

Gamblers already voted on the sport.

Annual betting receipts dropped from $3.5 billion in 1991 to around $500 million today.

I like to watch the dog racing action when I visit Tijuana.

I once took a friend to Del Mar on Friday and Caliente on Saturday.

We watched horses race at Del Mar and greyhounds compete at Caliente.

When Sunday rolled around, my friend asked, "What's next? Cat racing?"

When I lived in pgh, went to Wheeling downs many times. They had 10 races a day and now they have 20 but of course the casino helps now. Take the wife and drop her off at the casino and you go next door to the dogs. Never forget my hitting the 2-3-6 tri for some nice coin. When I go to South Point, I always play my 2-3-6 tri box on every race

I am guessing cockroach racing. PETA might be ok with that

I hit a trifecta in florida. I could hit the lottery before I hit that race again.

I thought I had a great system in the 90's . Never bet the dogs before. I went to the dirt area and looked at the dogs , which ever seemed tired before the race I scratched them out. I smoked them that day. Naturally I went back the next day and they carried me out. Never went again.

I used to go to the Hollywood Dog Track often in the 70's through 90's. Nice crowds in the 70's, grew smaller and smaller. I Went about 6 years ago, now that it's connected with a Casino. I was literally the only person that went outside to watch the races. It's probably time for the sport in Florida to be put down.

The city of Tucson had a dog track back in the '80's where Trevor Hoffman and JT Snow were regulars.

Been going to Tampa/St Pete dog tracks for years. St Pete used to be standing room only......

They have a HUGE parking lot and it would be packed when a dog like Keefer would run.

Of course Tampa Jai_Alai used to be PACKED on Saturday night too, more pussy than a PAC 12 football team.

Now? Does not exist. Won't be long for the doggies either IMO.

Went to the Tucson track 3 years ago and doggies were still running. Pools were very, very small. I think the dogs are gone now.

Forget about the dog racing part. What about amendment 3? This was supposed to pave the way for legalized sports betting in Florida. But apparently Disney and the Seminole Tribe used enough influence that it was voted down. As I understand it, for Florida to adopt sports betting in any way, it would only be done thru Indian casinos, which of course are not regulated. Good luck if you have a dispute with the sportsbook on an Indian reservation.

Indians are meth additcs, alcholics and wife beaters, also its questionable if they were before the Vikings in the 1200s

amendment 3 ended up being a yes which is bad for gamblers.

The advertising for it was very misleading. This now makes it more difficult for things to be approved, not easier.

A lot of the voters were confused as to what they were actually voting for,.

Cut my teeth at Hartford Jai Alai then Tampa Greyhound/ Derby Lane then Palm Beach Greyhound, where I saw Pete Rose everyday. Sad that it’s all going away.

Makes me sick the Peta wako nut-jobs were able to get this on the ballot first of all, then spread lies and propaganda to get it passed . Just terrible

By the way, Jai-alai is not dead. Great Jai-Alai is still be being played regularly at Dania

You can wager on it @ https://www.watchandwager.com/

Makes me sick knowing Sandusky ass raped young boys, hopefully your hero is getting the chomo treatment from other prisoners while that piece of shit rots in prison

For Jai alai the carrots have been cooked for many years, it ceased to exist circa 2002 in Connecticut and Florida's version is nowhere near profitable, in fact they play some joke games with players I could beat now.

Dania is the only pro game left.
