Looking at the team stats from 1972, the game was sure different.

- The Jets lead the NFL in passing - 195 yards/game.
- The Bears averaged 5.5 completions, 14.6 att, 78 passing yards/game.
- New England had 10 passing TD's, 28 INTS.
- Miami ran 613 times for 2960 yards and 26 TDs, easily the tops.
- Teams averaged 2.7 fumbles/game and fewer passing TDs vs INTs.

Those are some amazing stats FW, needless to say it's a different game today, except of course for the Bears QB play, some things never change, LOL

Most important, remember pass interference was completely different. Guys like Lester Hayes would have had very different careers if they had the PI rules of today back then. I mean they called him Lester the Molester for on-field reasons.
