I also didn't know how they were going to handle any additional money if they have more than 1,500 entries.

If contest entries cover and exceed the guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million all additional money gets added to the Quarter prizes.

Westgate is at about 1,700........Paulie was down there talking to John Murray, and they feel by next Wednesday, they will crack 2,500. Mike Palm feels they will be close to about 1,100 when all said and done, and felt they would be at about 1/3 of the Westgate when entries close out. Westgate still shooting for 3,500.

Circa now at 668. I think there will be an acceleration in the last week because of a large pending overlay so I'm predicting a final number around 1,200. I predict the Westgate won't hit 3,500 due to Circa competition. Westgate has increased its cash position In time and got a few more entries, but I think they lose some past entrants and end up around 3,200 - 3,300.

Stevens probably will give away most or all of the 300 entry overlay you're predicting.

I think the early start date benefited those who happened to be visiting LV for their annual trip, who typically wouldn't be there after the traditional signup date. So it stands to reason that they should be a bit more than usual.

This was a huge factor. People come in for March Madness and quickly sign up for the contests instead of having to make another trip.

Supercontest needs a min cash of 4x buy in. $6000. It stinks to see someone min cash and being tied with 7 other people which turns that cash into nothing.

Hell a min cash at half a percent of the prize pool would be in the $20,000 range.

Last year there was a 23 way tie for the min cash for $2,267. So $1,500 plus proxy fee $300 = $1,800. So a profit of $467 or $27.47 per week.

Definitely agree on that . . . been resisting the perennial knee-jerk "need to expand the prize payouts" call each year by people looking at the increase in entries each year but not the payoffs at the end of the year with ties. Been using a 5K minimum figure, but 6K works, too.

A SuperContest win needs to be worth more net than being able to tweet that the player finished "in the money" [basically close to in the red or actually in the red] in the SuperContest.

They need to hold off on expanding the number of payouts until the bottom end payouts with ties crest the 5K/6K threshold.

And waiting a year or two after that wouldn't hurt.

Once the SC grand prize topped well above 1 million, I was hopeful they'd quit diluting the pool further and focus on beefing up the other top 25 spots. I agree sports, it's stupid to have entry and proxy fees near two thousand to only win two thousand and have to make a return trip to receive.

They probably issued you a 1099 for $2,267 as well!

The only way to have larger payouts is to limit the places you pay out. Assuming Circa gets their 1,500, 1 in 150 cash. Using that same ratio, plus pad a little, greater entry fee, etc., maybe Westgate should only pay out the top 50, and not 100? But then again, being low to cash, and getting something back, is better than nothing, lol.

I already posted a prediction that Circa should/would have a giveaway if sales lagged. At this point I would say 1200 seems pretty much in the bag. I would think Stevens might think around a $100K overlay would be good advertising. We shall see.
