He did not miss any Pac-12 games that I can remember this past year. Who knew.

Too young to have seen Alcindor in college, nonetheless Walton best CBB player I ever saw!

Bill Walton's stat line in the 1973 NCAA title game in St. Louis: UCLA vs. Memphis State

Field goal attempts: 22
Field goals made: 21
Rebounds 13, assists 3.

Considering the significance of the game, this stands as the greatest single-game performance in NCAA basketball history.

Put Helix High School (San Diego suburb) on the map. Bill's brother Bruce Walton played in the NFL as an offensive lineman. Down the road, Reggie Bush (Heisman) and Alex Smith (1st overall NFL Draft pick) were Helix teammates.

Best passing big man of all time.
Injuries wrecked his career.
It's either him or Arvydas Sabonis, don't know if you ever got to see him play, and not just in the NBA but in Russia before he came to this country, he made passes that a guy his size shouldn't have been able to make, a point guard in a center's body, one of the most skilled bigs to ever play

Walton a truly special player and person, there haven't been too many who enjoyed living life as much as he did, throw it down in Heaven big fella RIP

His playing was a lot more competitive than his annoying broadcast booth work, but oddly enough, you can almost always find yourself looking forward to his pac 12 game commentary late on ESPN. Still, he will be missed. RIP.

Kareem and Walton for 8 straight years….Wooden and the UCLA boosters were thrilled…

Freshman could not play varsity during that era. So Walton and Alcindor only played three years on the varsity.
UCLA won 7 NCAA Titles in a row – three with Lew Alcindor, two with Steve Patterson, then two with Bill Walton.
Walton lost his senior year to David Thompson & North Carolina State.
Earlier that season, Notre Dame broke UCLA’s 88 game winning streak.

Apparently you didn't catch all of the errors that were never pointed out by his co-annnouncers, either due to feeling sorry for him or weren't quite smart enough to catch them.

TYVM Morgan William!!!
For those of us in SoCal..............TJ Simers passed away on Sunday. He was on "Around the Horn" when it started. He was a real curmudgeon - but entertaining to read. The LA Times has never been the same since they fired him. #RIPTJ

Oh that sucks. He was a legend here, from nearby Benton Harbor. He retired when the Bulls wouldn’t pay him, then they went in the tank.
