2025 Deaths…

Rick Davies, founder of the music group, Supertramp, 81, cancer.

Crime of the Century a great prog album. Went a bit more poppy with Breakfast in America, but it was a huge seller. But tensions within the band caused the breakup not long after that.

Davies & Hodgson were kind of like Roger Waters and David Gilmour. Rock bands almost like teams.....but egos and drugs very destructive.

World Champion boxer Ricky Hatton dead at 46. His personal life was a total mess with Depression, drugs and alcohol finally catching up to him.

Ed Giacomin, a Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender and one of the faces of the New York Rangers‘ franchise in the 1960s and ’70s, has died. He was 86.

Giacomin died of natural causes, a Rangers spokesperson said after the organization learned of the news from his family.
A spokesperson for the NHL Alumni Association said Giacomin died at his home Sunday night.

Bad week for Goalies.

I remember him. Makes me realize how old I am to see he was 86.

Bernie Parent, the Hall of Famer considered one of the great goalies of all time who anchored the net for the Flyers' only two Stanley Cup championships during their Broad Street Bullies heyday, has died. He was 80.

Parent died in his sleep

Terrible month for goalies keeps getting worse.

A real legend in Philly…RIP

1974 Game 7 Stanley Cup Finals :
Kate Smith sings God Bless America
Parent blanks the Bruins 1-0
Flyers win the Cup
Awesome stuff
Hi bomzee,
Pretty sure that series was 6 games only.
Final game was Sunday May 19 in the afternoon at the Spectrum.
I can still remember the game.
I was at the track that day betting horses while listening to the game on my pocket transistor radio.
It was hard to believe that Orr and the Bruins got beat.

And yes Parent was the star of that series. Conn Smythe trophy winner. And in 1975 too.
Awesome stuff.

I absolutely stand corrected
The Flyers did NOT want to go to Boston for a game 7
What an epic night in Philadelphia
The absolute popularity of the expansion Flyers in Philly was as extreme as I've ever seen.
