Have you ever heard of Wilkin Castillo? Even the most die hard baseball fan would probably answer no. Castillo came up as a catcher and had three plate appearances for the Reds in 2009 before getting sent down and was released by the club in 2010, he was then signed by the Braves, he didn't reach the majors and was released by Atlanta in 2011, he was then signed by the Rockies but didn't make the majors and was released in 2012. later that season he signed with the Dodgers, but again never made the majors and was released in 2013, two years later, in 2015, he signed with the Pirates, but never got called up and was released by Pittsburgh, in 2016 he signed with the Blue Jays and again was released without reaching the majors and was picked up by the Yankees later that year, he never got an at bat with them and was let go in 2017, the Yankees resigned him in 2018, but again let him go later that year without ever getting called up. Earlier this year the Marlins signed him to a minor league contract, and due to recent injuries at the catcher position called him up the other day, he started yesterday's game behind the plate, and with the Marlins trailing 3-2 in the top of the seventh he came up with two runners on, and like something out of a Hollywood movie he doubled in both runners giving the Marlins a 4-3 lead they wouldn't relinquish. This guy spent ten years toiling in the minors for seven different organizations, along with playing in the Mexican league before the Marlins called him up, just a great story even if you're not a baseball fan
