Australian Grand Prix

Am going with Vettel right now to win pole at +250 since I think the number is only going to get worse later in the week. The big question is whether this is the year the Newey car is vulnerable or were they sandbagging like usual (especially in Barcelona). Here is a good rundown of the contenders from James Allen:

http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2013/03/analysis-of-the-final-barcelona-f1-test/

If you look at the jjpm comment/reply to the article he gives a nice snapshot of what Red Bull always does in testing by comparing Day 4s at Barcelona.

Vettel has won pole two of the last three years. I think the team believes it's imperative that he be at the front especially since the car probably doesn't have the top speed of the other contenders. Want to bet Alonso to win but will wait till after qualifying since Ferrari dedicated itself for most of the preseason to longer runs. They're not sandbagging. The Ferrari is way ahead of where it was last year. McLaren might or might not be sandbagging. Have to wait for qualifying and the race to see where Lotus and Mercedes and the other teams shake out. So waiting on better price for Alonso and maybe Button and even Kimi after qualifying. Optional and allin hope you see this.

Vettel wins pole - 1 unit: +250

Re: Australian Grand Prix

McLaren might be in trouble. Lotus and Mercedes are fast. Ferrari still not sure. Alonso took forever to come out during the first practice.

Vettel dominated the first and second practice unlike the usual hang back early strategy he's used in the past. He's now -150ish for pole. So just going to wait till after qualifying.

Re: Australian Grand Prix

Vettel won pole. With the weird qualifying, the cool temperatures, the top 10 having fucked tires and the bad track this could be a clown show. Not sure what to do.

Re: Australian Grand Prix

There's only 10 minutes left to the start because of the annoying Australian start time. Because of all the crazy variables the obvious pick of Vettel at -170ish that would be a no brainer later on when everything is settled down but now seems less certain. The fact that all of the top 10 are screwed on their tires and they are going to instantly start graining (some of them like Hamilton and Button (who did 3 flying laps in Q3) are already fucked. So with the long pit straight and random first race of the season shit and still convinced that Alonso is the best driver and Mercedes is fast and the fact that outside of the top 10 they're going Hard-Hard-Soft and not Soft-Hard-Hard.

Alonso .25 units to win +850
Hamilton .25 units to win +650
Hulkenburg (starting 11th, Button should have tanked in Q2) fastest lap .1 unit +3000
Field fastest lap .1 unit (on Bookmaker) .1 unit +1000

Re: Australian Grand Prix

Lol. Autosport has the race starting but it hasn't started. Not fucking sure what's going on. Australian time is too confusing. Optional could have explained this.

There might be two other guys who care here but they're no shows. So it's me talking to myself!

Nascar is good too, especially if you like slower, less sophisticated cars, uglier women, less money and non-exotic race locations. But at least people can figure out when the race starts.

Re: Australian Grand Prix

Mr. Gin I typed a whole long thing but realized you probably weren't going to read it and it was kind of boring anyway so fuck it. Go Hamilton and Alonso and someone run into Vettel because he's fucking annoying and I didn't bet him.

Re: Australian Grand Prix

Between Alonso and Kimi. Come on Alonso. Hulk didn't even start but field has has a chance if they change to the SuperSoft. Alonso one time.

Re: Australian Grand Prix

Kimi won. Alonso second. Vettel third. Vergne had the fastest lap till Kimi beat it with only a few laps left when it wasn't necessary so that fucked the fastest lap field bet. Tires ended up not being a huge issue.

Vettel pole +2.5
Alonso to win -.25
Hamilton to win -.25
Hulkenburg fastest lap -.1
Field fastest lap -.1

+1.8 units

:shoot: Hope it fucking rains in Malaysia

Re: Australian Grand Prix

I had Vettel before the quali and now I am sorry I didn't took him just for pole. Still, I liked the podium. I hope it's going to be a tight season with many guys competing for the title until the last race.

Re: Australian Grand Prix

Jake and allin! Yeah, Optional's home grand prix. Wish he was here. Hopefully everything is okay. 6 days till Malaysia. So many bizarre things about Australia that people will overcorrect for.
