Bobby turned 85 in December.

Reports of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.

I visited him at his apartment on the east side of Las Vegas a couple of months ago.

He read me the riot act for not keeping n touch with him.

Classic Owl.

He's favored at -120 to see his 90th birthday (after all, I cannot bring myself to make him a 'dog in that spot) and 100/1 to make it to the century mark.

Will do, Arturo.

Bobby and I visited Dodger Stadium for a Sunday Night Baseball game against the St. Louis Cardinals a few years ago.

The good news: He regaled me with stories about his long history in Las Vegas circa 1962.

The bad news: Our seat location at Dodger Stadium.

After a losing afternoon at Santa Anita, I bought the Dodger tickets in the nosebleed section.

He was not happy.

He thought I should have bought the VIP seats secured by his buddy, Mark Dufty, the last time he visited Dodger Stadium.

Bobby was muttering under his breath through the first few innings.

He stopped complaining after I treated to a Dodger dog and a soda.

He's a great guy but sometimes a bit surly.

But that's what makes him "Bobby the Owl."

Those who know Bobby will relate to this story.

I wish in the time I have spent in Las Vegas hanging out w/ JK, I had the chance to meet Bobby the Owl.
