Bodog: Broncos, Seahawks Favored to Reach Super Bowl

CONFERENCE FINALS: BRONCOS, SEAHAWKS FAVORED TO REACH SUPER BOWL AS BODOG.COM POSTS ODDS

January 18, 2006

With four teams vying for a ticket to Detroit, stakes and emotions are high for this weekend's AFC and NFC Championship Games. Bodog.com has posted the odds.

"After a surprising Divisional Playoff weekend, I anticipate more excitement and for two more riveting games to be played before the Super Bowl contenders are decided," says Calvin Ayre, Founder and CEO of Bodog.com.
In the first battle on Championship Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Invesco Field, where the Denver Broncos are unbeaten this season. After handing their formidable opponents large upsets last weekend, you can bet both teams will be coming into the AFC title game with confidence and momentum.

In what could be characterized as one of the greatest victories in Steelers' history, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger led a stunning upset of the top-seeded Indianapolis Colts last Sunday. Not only did Roethlisberger throw for two touchdowns, he made a crucial tackle in the waning seconds that helped preserve the 21-18 win.

Roethlisberger's counterpart this weekend, Jake Plummer, notched his first playoff win last week when he led the Broncos to a 27-13 victory over the two-time defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.
In what should be a close, hard-hitting game, Bodog.com bookmakers have opened their line on the AFC Championship Game with the Broncos as 3-point favorites.

Meanwhile, the NFC will be decided west of the Rockies, where the wild-card Carolina Panthers face the top-seeded Seahawks in Seattle. With NFL MVP Shaun Alexander reportedly recovered from the concussion he suffered in last week's 20-10 win over Washington, the Seahawks will try to control the game on the ground, keeping Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme and electrifying receiver Steve Smith on the sidelines as much as possible.
However, Smith shredded the heralded Chicago Bears defense last week, catching 12 passes for 218 yards in the 29-21 victory at Soldier Field. Carolina, with injuries decimating its backfield, will likely need Smith to drown out the noise at Qwest Field if it expects to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XL.

Bodog.com bookmakers have opened the line with Seattle as 3.5-point favorites.
