Books that cold call people are not top tier books.

I consider them under the 2nd string of books. These are the places that I think might eventually bring down the offshore industry without some type of regulation.

Only 2 have ever cold called me. One was tele-bet and just a few nights ago youwager.com
That's why I hope they go out of business before causing a stink by not paying someone--so forth and so-on. It hurts the good solid places.

I was a regular at first Fidelity a few years ago and when i didn't bet for a couple months they started calling me 3-4 times a week.

Got sick of it....Kept telling them I wasn't interested in their late lines (11 am) and thier limited Betting menu...

they finally got the message when I cussed every one out that I asked to speak to.

Its a terrible practice and hopefully players will post these type of threads often. ALL the top books visit the eog.com so let them know what you think of cold calling.

Amazing that a top tier book like CRIS is one of the worst of them all. Especially Richard from CRIS/DSI is a fvcking moron. The idiot called me 2 times within 1 minute of me hanging up on him.

Some sports books BOOK well and MARKET poorly.

Others MARKET well and BOOK poorly...

I believe CRIS falls into FIRST category...

They could use some serious help when it comes to Marketing/Advertising IMHO...

When I look at HITWISE to measure traffic in this industry, their website doesn't get nearly the volume I'd have suspected them to have...

I have had two books call me. CRIS and FF. Cris was/is relentless, FF stopped when I had a flury on the phone. I guess it is no different than when the banks cold call looking to seel something. It really doesnt bother me that much but I tend to have "fun" with the guy on the phone.

Hi Ken :)

If Cris or any other book calls you looking for business (cold calling)--IN NO WAY are they TOP TIER!
Cold call is a vital source for new books, not the old books. It?s an inexpensive way to generate new clients and increase their business, phone calls suck when they call you during dinner or too early or late in the day, call somebody they don't know, or know only slightly, to play with them ,sometimes is not that bad, and sometimes is good but only when it come to get big cash bonus, with a low roll.<O:p</O:p

I was cold called by Heritage, signed up and loved the place.

Its just marketing. The books that don't look to expand their customer base must have something wrong with them.

In this day and age of information on the internet newspapers, radio, magazines; NO BOOK should have to resort to cold calling. I am on the National do not call list and that means all advertizing--as if they could give a damn. If you trust a book that cold calls you---than you are most likey a looser--like yours truley! (Not to mention you are very naive)

I'm very paranoid about getting calls from sportsbooks, or even worse, TOUTS. I don't want my girlfriend or family answering the phone and wondering if I'm a degenerate gambler, which I am, lol. It happened years ago, some crappy book sold my number and I got the calls. Never again. I don't give my real number when I register. There's zero need for a sportsbook to have my number in this email age. If there's a problem and I need to speak to a customer service rep., then fine, I'll arrange a call.

It's a privacy matter. I don't want calls from chimney sweeps or carpet cleaners either, so my number's unlisted.

I suppose the telemarketing works for some books or they wouldn't do it. List the ones that do here and I'll never play there out of principal.

Cold Calling makes me think of a door-to door salesman. Not only do I not want them in my house---I simply don't trust them. As for will they pay--that is NOT the issue to me. They may and they may not---but ONE thing is CERTAIN---They are hurting for customers. I was disappointed with WWTS in my time there.
I don't think you will read where WSEX or Pinnacle cold called Anybody.

Yes--I'd like to see a list of books that do this--I'll never play there.

If I owned a BOOK and I knew I could get customers cold calling them, I would in a HEARTBEAT, maybe alot wouldnt, but I see nothing wrong with it, if you are not interested tell them from the go, and if they EMAIL you and you dont like it, EMAIL them back and tell them to DELETE your EMAIL, its real simple, something I dont do is let small things bother me.
