Can I ask a dumb question?

It's not a stupid question. People are intimidated to post gambling questions now, there are a lot of lurkers and even regulars that would like to share what they know.

By the MLB Rule book....Total Bases are Decided By a Safe hit...Then you count the bases you Obtain after that safe hit (without Error)....

A single is One Base...Double is 2 bases...Etc....

The reason they do this is becuase they want to Distinguish the Real hitters from the Guys that can't hit too well and all they do is walk and hit the ball weakly and they get on base...

That is why they have On BAse Percentage for the Leadoff type guys and singles hitters ...and the Total Bases for the Gap hitters and the power hitters...

They had to have a way to differentiate the two

So in other words.....a sportsbooks definition of total bases is different than MLB's. If Ken Griffey Jr reaches on a single, then Adam Dunn homers....by MLB'S rules thats 4 total bases for Griffey. But on a total bases prop wager its only one base for Griffey. Things that make you go hmmmmmmm
