Can Legal Action Be Taken Against a Sportsbook for Continued Mailings?

Beginning Sep of 2003, I sent BoDog the first of three emails asking to be removed, from their mailing list. I provided all the info. They responded that I would be removed. On two more occassions, I continued to received BoDog, literature-postcards...through the US Mails. Until today, the last was received in August of 2005. I sent tham another email asking AGAIN to be removed from their Blaine, Washington mailing center. Again they responded that I would be removed.
Today, Oct. 7th 05---once again---I recived ANOTHER of their advertizements through the US mails again from Blaine Washington. Friends, I hate dealing with lawyers as much as just about anyone. Because, for the most part, they write laws which make it continually necessary to use a lawyer's service.
But I am fed up, with receiving BoDog's postcards through the US mail. I think that I have been patient and nice in asking them to remove my name....yet IT CONTINUES. Does anyone know if they can be sued. The mailing are coming from a US address (Blain, Wa.)
Thanks for any info--concerning bringing suit.

Then somewhere in Blaine, Washington (USA) is promoting an illegal activity. (If you are correct JJ) I've asked them 3 TIMES--and 3 times they have said I would be removed.

In America, you can sue over anything whodat. Doesn't mean you will get any relief, but you can file the papers. I guess you would have to hire a PI to find the sender. It may be out of the main offices control too as far as we know. Did the card have any special codes attached?

When you ask very politely 3 times and receive three answers that are lies. Then that is enough. I've nevr seen such an aggressive company. I HATE THIS TYPE OF PEOPLE.
I don't want money--I want to be OFF their US mailing list. Blaine Washington IS in the USA!

If I am not mistaken, Bodog's administrative offices and call center are in the Vancouver B.C. area. Blaine Washington is a U.S. border town a stone's throw from the border. My guess is that it is cheaper to get U.S. bulk postal rates by sending someone over the border to do the mailing rather than going through Canadian post.

No special codes--Anyone here from Blaine , Washington? How big of a city/town is it. They don't even show their zip code
Just Permit 8.

Hey Bodog---------If you lie about removing my name and address from your US mailing list (THREE TIMES)----do you think---people trust you with their money?

Bo-Dog---I'm going to post once a week about your mailings here and at the Rx.
Major Wager---doesn't get advertizing from you?

I would bet most of us get 25 pieces minimum of junk mail from sports books, credit card companies, restaurants, etc... every week. I just throw them away. Way to many other serious things to worry about in life.

But, to each his own.

Ok-General ---since you feel this way... Why not post your mailing address here and I'll be glad to send it to other books and you can get some MORE! Most folks if you ask them once nicely to stop--that's enough. Three times is beyond enough times. Three lies about them removing my name is 3 TOO MANY.

Don't TRUST BODOG---FOLKS!!!

All spam mail has to have a return address.

Go online and sign up every thing available. Make up a name and use that address.

Does not do you any good, but it might make you feel better...

Whodat, I highly doubt you can come close to getting as much mail as me.

Please Don't take your hatred of some sports books out on me or others in the forum.

I love ya man.

There's no hatred towards you . You're simply defending the "hand that feeds you" by saying we get 25 peaces of junk mail a day. That's no different than Wil over at the Rx. He would never dare say anything but "sweet nothings" in BoDog's ear. My complaint--is that I took the time to write them a very polite email asking to be removed from their mailing list. I even told them I was not looking for another book. They acknowledged this...NOT ONCE---NOT TWICE---BUT THREE TIMES stating it would be done. How can you trust a book that LIES.

I am not defending the mailings. If you will email me, I will do what I can to get you removed from that list. Is that fair enough for now?

General, I appreciate your offer to help. Sincerely I do. I think we all value our privacy. I know that we don't have total privacy and accept there can be good reasons for it.

After a decent night's sleep, my anger has subsided a bit. My mail, goes into a type of mailbox where (depending) on the size of letter or postcard or mag, it has to sit up in the mailbox and can be read by anyone walking bye. Normal size (and regular buisness size letters) fit down in the box and are not seen by the world. When I come home and the first thing I see sticking out the top of my mailbox in BIG LETTERS READS" BET FOOTBALL...WIN MONEY...GET PAID FAST" then my blood boils. People love to talk and we all know (borrowing an old line); " LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS".

Also this week, I received a large packet from BOS about their company. I've also never played there and never will. I also sent them an email on their website asking nicely to be removed. They did not respond and that was several days ago. But I think this was the first received from them..so I hope they just did what I asked. I think the thing about Bodog....is that when they respond, I get the feeling they are telling the truth and will remove my name. People make mistakes...we all do. But when I am LIED to on three occassions....it sends me over the edge! I value honesty very highly.

General, you might put a "little bug" in Bo-dog's ear to MAKE SURE they stop sending ads when they are asked. I'll send them a 4th email (sometime next week) asking once more to be removed from their mailings.
Thanks
Whodat....
