Advancing with negative units? How can this be a contest of chiefs if you advance while losing buffalo? Sounds as if the layout of these plains was wrong.

Re: CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: WVU v BUSKIE

Buskie has eliminated the lines maker at the second biggest book available to Americans till recently (who everyone called the fav to win this with his info and line making knowledge) then eliminated quite possibly the sharpest mind to ever post on Eog since the beginning and your still making him an underog?

Who wants to give me Buskie + money?
Huh? WVU has a better record in the contest (as did I). Not that the sample is at all relevant, WVU is just playing smarter in this contest than Buskie.

Re: CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: WVU v BUSKIE

Some small factoids: Contest best bets W/L is 18-9-1, 66.7%.

Record up until finals:

WVU is 13-7-1, Buskie is 12-8-1.
WVU's opponents 12-8-1, Buskie's opponents 7-14-0
FWIW, WVU cumulative ATS margins: +36.5, Buskie cumulative ATS margins: -19.0
Something struck me as fishy about Buskie's ATS margin so I double checked and I had messed up and instead used his opponent Rainbow's second round ATS.

His corrected cumulative ATS margin is 135! My apologies to Buskie.

This is a contest. Contest strategy is much more important than trying to pick winners, tuck.
I wouldn't necessarily say this is acurate. If you took the Rams on your Monday night play your stategy wouldn't have advanced. It is a combination of factors for sure.

Damn bob, I trusted your data. I am not a buskie hater. Honestly I haven't really read many of his posts. Everyone tells me he is a pro so I guess I have to respect that. I wish him luck and I want a good matchup. I hope I am not the pushover matchup that rainbow was :lolxmas

Re: CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: WVU v BUSKIE

Buffettgambler, Pancho Sanza, Reagan are 3 who post plays that come to mind. There are others who don't post plays (like ComptrBob) who I would consider sharper. Then there are those who I know firsthand are extremely successful gamblers as in they win > 6 figures every year, but I wouldn't want to post those names without their consent. In terms of feel handicapping, sure he might be the best, but that's such a small part of being a successful sports bettor.
show us some sheets on these guys, be curious who really gets kicked out of books for winning 2 much.

sharp, dull, square, it's all about who puts the most money in their pocket with the best winning percentage at the end of the day.

i have said this before and will say it again until someone proves me wrong:

i hear about these math guys and how they are so sharp but i don't see any books cutting them off and we never see their results.....

advantage gambler is not classified as a math guy

buy low, sell high, hope for a middle, i get it

i like how tim's age argument works for him but never against him.

it's all good, i have much love for everyone on these boards

this week will be a great finale to a really decent contest

There is always greedy people willing to take a wager thinking they are the one that will beat the pro. If one has 10 outs they constantly use, I'm sure there is a few outs that they are down at overall, while being up as a whole.

It is my belief and experience that any consistent winner will get cut off pretty quickly. Be it from their agent or from the book. So how can a longtime pro still have outs?

yes understood, but eventually you lose all your good outs. If the only books that keep you are the ones you are losing at then you would be in dire straights pretty damn quick

I'm not arguing your points as I do kinda agree, there are more solid books out there I would suspect then most imagine though who is always looking for action

i just typed and retyped and reretyped my response

then back spaced through

books don't like to lose period

they especially don't like advantage gamblers

Re: CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: WVU v BUSKIE

I will be blunt here. How does buskie do it? I have heard from many that he is a bigtime pro. But he lives in Philly. is he scouting for new agents every few weeks? Does he have several beards? Not much chance of him having any good online outs left. How could he continue to win like it is alluded to? In 2 years time he would have a hard time getting down. I know this is a sensitive subject especially when he is what many here hope to be, but in reality it has to go way beyond picking winners. No agent or book will continue to pay any players paycheck.

Once a winning gambler (or team) has agents/beards he wins for, the outs dont stop. The guys splitting the accounts with the winners want more free money. They scratch, fight, and claw to stay on the winning train.

Many times the losing BM's also want to jump on the train as well. Then you have a whole new set of options that open up. Winning is the key. Winners will have outs forever, not the other way around. :lock:

Re: CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: WVU v BUSKIE

Interesting Travis. So without a team or beards than you agree it is logistically impossible to keep outs?

That was pretty much how I did it with the casinos, but I was somehow wrong in some eyes for doing it that way. I gambled for 36 different clients, splitting the profits with each of them. I did it somewhat differently as I pooled the results so everyone would get paid every week.

lol cc, how would you know if they were getting cut off? Buffettgambler moves MLB side (one of the most liquid markets) openers with quarter positions. Pancho moves the 2H market. Reagan moves the NCAAB total market.
