Detroit Lions 2025 Season Thread

No problem since it was pee season but this is an example of grieving and honouring escalation. It started with Hamlin when the game was called. There is pressure and precedence to not play if someone is siriusly injured and incentive to take it another step. I hope it doesn't happen again but it's inevitable and it will be regular season or playoffs. Daryl Stingley was paralyzed in a pee season game and they carted him off the field and snapped the ball again.

As it turns out, Norris didn't even have the worst neck injury this past weekend. That would go to Alexander Mattison.

If (when) this happens in the regular season and they finish the game, I guarantee Christine Brennan will be activated.

We dodged a bullet when John Ziegler and Christine broke up. Their first child would have probably been the retarded anti-Christ.

Bears kicked Miami’s asses last week in their scrimmage also. Fish have some serious OL issues.

I think it will be between Lions and Vikings again depending on pretty boy for the Vikings. Jordan Love seems to be having friction with LaFloozy and the Bears are stuck with painted nails.

I post again. Lions will be bettor you bet this year. On offense, perhaps an historic year visa vi yards and points.

I wish I shared your optimism DD, but I think with their tougher schedule, they will lose some close games. Probably finished with no more than 11 wins, 10 if they are lucky.

Nobody is going 15-2 in that division.

Despite the opponents off Monday nighters, it's a tough schedule. And 3 of their toughest opponents (Balt, Phil and KC all on the road).

Tesla is not only the steal of the draft. He may be an historic steal. He has superstar written all over him. Another Cooper Kupp. Complete opposite of the same ole Lions who almost never landed studs in the draft and usually duds. Reggie Rogers.

Reginald O'Keith Rogers (January 21, 1964 – October 24, 2013) was an American professional football player who was a defensive tackle who played four seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Detroit Lions (1987–1988), Buffalo Bills (1991), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1992).

A consensus All-American for the Washington Huskies in Seattle under head coach Don James, Rogers was chosen seventh overall in the 1987 NFL draft by the Lions.[1] However, he only played six games of his rookie season due to a slew of emotional problems, even spending time in a counseling center.[2] His second season in 1988 ended after only five games when his car struck another vehicle and killed three teenagers early on Thursday, October 20.[3][4][5] He was later found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.15, the legal limit in Michigan being 0.10 at the time.[6] The Lions waived him in July 1989, not because of the felony charges, but because he broke his neck in the collision.[7] In 1990, he was convicted of vehicular homicide and spent 13 months in prison.[6]

Following his sentence, Rogers had brief stints with Buffalo and Tampa Bay, but was out the NFL after the 1992 season. He made his way to the Canadian Football League and played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1993–94) and one of the U.S. expansion teams, the Shreveport Pirates (1995). He played 33 games in the CFL and accumulated 18 sacks and 91 tackles in three-down football.

Rogers is often considered among the biggest draft busts in NFL history. In 2008, ESPN named him the 13th-biggest bust since the AFL-NFL merger.[8] A year earlier, Yahoo! Sports named him the worst #7 pick since the merger.[9]

On November 26, 2008, Rogers was involved in a hit-and-run collision in Tukwila that resulted in his arrest and a charge of DUI. It was his fifth arrest for DUI in the state of Washington, dating back to his college days at UW.[10]

Death
At age 49, Rogers was found dead at his home in Seattle in 2013.[13] An autopsy revealed that he died of combined cocaine and alcohol intoxication.[14]

That offense is going to be special needs. Historical special needs. Prepare for liftoff, Bowling!

Offensively, they didn't do much right. Didn't run the ball, didn't protect Goff, and poor in the red zone. Defensively, they held GB to 266 yards but GB only had 47 offensive plays.

If what happened to Aiden happened to me, I would not be able come back at the same level if at all. Physically he may be 100% but howid can he get back to 100% mentally? The fear factor of getting injured again has to be there even if a little and that tiny bit of doubt affects his play. He was getting hustle double teamed he probably was also last year. He did nothing. Bad sign. That and the offensive line spells doom if it doesn't change. Goof is no Joshy Allen. He faces pressure, he's Joey Harrington.
