Understood.

DeVonta Smith is likely to be among the top five players selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Najee Harris is slotted to go among the last five or six players in the first round.

Smith will be a better pro...but value on Bama....

Harris running style won't last long in NFL.

Tough loss for Ohio State tonight when running back Trey Sermon was injured on the game's first play from scrimmage.

So many tough running backs in college football bring a necessary swagger to a team's offense.

I don't think Smith is either fast enough nor quick enough to be effective on Sundays.

Both Waddle and Ruggs have been timed in the 40-yard dash much faster than Smith.

Waddle and Ruggs at 4.27 or thereabouts while DeVonta Smith is in the mid-to-high 4.4's.

But if you are a QB, would you rather throw to Ruggs or Smith? Screw the stop watch.

Good point.

If speed was everything, Usain Bolt would be unstoppable as an NFL receiver.

Remember Bob Hayes, Willie Gault and Dwight Stone.

The college game is so much different than the NFL....those with heart and hard work in the college ranks will survive in the NFL....you can throw all those stop watches away....

Some teams always fall for this shit too. Ruggs was dropped into a dream situation and pretty much looked to be like a lot of guys the Raiders have drafted in the past, insanely fast and yet mediocre at playing football at a high level. Still can't believe Ruggs went before Jeudy, even with an insanely bad run of drops and having a lot worse QB situation, Jeudy's production ran circles around his former teammate.

Railbird knows about as much about football as my blind sister. Jerry Rice ran a mid 4.5 forty yard dash. Smith is plenty fast enough. He'll go top 4 in the draft. Waddle is coming out and will go before 20 in the first round.

Hope the Eagles get Smith at the sixth pick....

Birdie makes a good point about DeVonta Smith's frame.

Extremely slight.

Only matters if he's going to be a possession receiver going over the middle. And who's to say Smith doesn't add size? Some leg work could likely add 15 pounds; 6'1 190 is big enough. Harold Jackson was one of the best receivers in the decade of the 70s. Bet he wasn't over 175 lbs.

My guess is Fields goes 2 and Smith 3 or vice versa. The kid was unguardable last night and one of the kids he was schooling, Wade #24 for Ohio State will go high in the draft when he comes out.

Long Live Wilson!
he wasnt being covered. he will get hurt, often, like he did tonight in nfl, too skinny
Thanks for answering my question indirectly about not watching a play of the game. Harris is the running back lol.

If Miami doesn't trade down, Smith to the Dolphins at number 3 seems like a no brainer. They can draft Smith, sign a guy like Allen Robinson as a FA, and in one offseason their receiving corps goes from a weakness to a strength

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 200 pounds, Ja'Marr Chase he does have elite speed. According to Bleacher Report, Ja'Marr Chase ran a 4.4 forty yard dash sometime this year.

He is Jarvis Landry with speed. Nick Saban said he was the best wr in college football last season. Chase opted out this year but for a refresher you can see him ball out on youtube.
