They seem to be doing fine without him.....The Sabermetric guys seem
to think they (Dodgers) will lose 3 wins without him for the duration of
the suspension.

Doesn't look like it.

To be a real contender they do imo. Come playoff time they will need a bat like Manny's. Pierre has been great filling in, but he will slow down big time soon and the offense will struggle. They have a ton of good hitters, but no one guy that pitchers are really scared of. Manny gives them that guy. Manny gives them the power they are lacking right now.

The team is playing very well right now without him, but overall the talent just isn't there to win a World Series without Manny Ramirez in my opinion.

helps having 72 games vs sfo,col,az,sd which are moneyballers.
