I believe that EOG has evolved into a forum on sports betting globally, including Las Vegas.
Personally, I liked Las Vegas, and betting in Las Vegas sportsbooks, so much that I moved here. So it's a welcome evolution to me.
At the moment, I'd wager that the reluctance of Costa Rican operators to appear on a US broadcast radio show is more a function of the US enforcement climate than marketing strategy in a vacuum.

Will defer as to whether EOG is breaking laws. There's at least a few gray areas out there when it comes to sundry gambling related laws. For example, believe I saw in press coverage of a bookie bust back in Louisiana a statement that it was illegal for the bookies to book the wagers but it wasn't illegal for the players to make the wagers. Never wanted to rely on that distinction with my employer, however, even if it were valid. But there's often as much a question as to who is culpable under a particular statute as there is as to what is prohibited.
I'll defer on the technicalities in this context to others. But the general enforcement situation does tend to explain why we didn't have a slew of Costa Rican bookmakers on the evening show over the past couple of weeks.

The only time I've ever heard about breaking the law on a gambling site is some sort of "gray area" thang where breaking the law turns out to be, well, breaking the law.. I didn't fall off the turnip truck yersterday. We know there is no gray area here.

Well, Jeff, I didn't learn the law by falling off a turnip truck, I graduated at the top of my class at LSU Law School and have been an attorney for over 27 years. One benefit of being educated in a field is that you know the limits of knowledge and where the gray areas are.
What is intriguing to me is that in this and a number of other threads recently, you have tried to goad, e.g., EOG, Costa Rican operators, and William Hill into taking action that would not necessarily be advisable at the moment with little upside for them to boot. The legal concerns are noted in each thread in response to your call to action and you then start a similar bit in another thread.
The summer is basically over and it's football season -- let's move the discussion on to something that we can bet on. Once William Hill clears Nevada regulatory review and actually takes the reins at the consolidated three companies in 2012, you will hear all that you want and more about what they will be doing. Once the legal and/or enforcement environment changes with regard to offshores doing business with US customers, you will hear plenty from that end as well. As the saying goes, this too shall pass.
Meanwhile, CFB Week 1 is this weekend and NFL Week 1 is one week after that. There's plenty to discuss on a sportsbook forum that is online without playing around with issues for sport that potentially affect people's livelihood and liberty.
