37-0 loss with Ohio State on deck and Oregon after that. If Fickell stays around this offseason, it will only be due to the buyout. Would a MAC level team even want him at this point? He destroyed a program in 3 years that Alvarez had built up over the previous 30.

I'm not good in math...... if there's 32 teams and Roberts is WORLD CHAMPION 3 times in 6 years, is that good?

They will be showing this game at coaching clinics around the world for the next 50 years.

It's like this genius is coaching with tomorrow's newspaper.

100% this game was won by the coaching staff. Props to Roberts once again.

How does he get any credit? i give it to the Jap players on the team that give it all, never whine, and who seem to enjoy playing baseball.

I noticed Mookie not hustling the whole series, yea he had hit into likely outs but you still hustle, especially in the world series.

He gets credit for inserting Rojas into the SL, he saved the game with the HR and the play at the plate. He gets credit for taking out Edman and putting Pages in center in the ninth inning, he made a great catch in left center that Edman wouldn't have made, if he doesn't catch that ball the game is over. He gets credit for pushing all the right buttons regarding the pen. He gets credit for walking Barger to set up the game ending double play, not many managers would have put the winning run on base, Kirk hits into a double play and the game is over, if he puts one in the gap the Jays win. Roberts put on a managerial clinic.
