encryption? am I in over my head

well as i mentioned yesterday I am going wirless, i bought the router and the thing I need for my sosns xbox.. the guy at best buy reiiterated how important it is to encrypt the connection but also said how difficult to do on your own it is, and suggested I let their "geek squad" do it for me.. well im gonna see how hard it is.. im sure for me it will be impossible..

if it is difficult... anyone who knows what they are doing want to make a few dollars ? if anyone wants to walk me through I'll transfer them some coin at olympic
