The last (and first) time I previewed a Neman Grodno fixture, there were just 94 confirmed cases of this insidious Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Belarus with 32 Recovered and 0 Deaths (Johns Hopkins), and I had no Offshore account (0 outs).

Now? Over 60,000 reported cases and 412 Deaths as the unitary Presidential Republic soldiers on through whatever wave this is of this particular Plague, as have many European leagues, most trying to conclude their virus-interrupted seasons with some elite clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Barcelona and PSG still alive in the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League. Watch Atalanta (18/1, already advanced on 8-4 aggregate vs VAL) and Real Madrid (20/1) who are chasing 2 Road Goals scored by Manchester City and who have to play Leg 2 at Etihad Stadium in Sky Blue Mancunia on Aug 7 or 8. With this Roster, their current run and that price, Los Blancos are worth a shot.

But I’m not so sure my Chelsea (0-3 aggregate BM) qualify as “elite”” after the Blues performance vs West Ham United midweek in a game they needed and which could have catapulted them past Leicester City and into 3rd place and made the balance of the season more tolerable. But no. Humiliated by a club who might not even live in the EPL in 2021. The Cubs Fan in me has made this Pandemic (PHIL 23 CUBS 22) and being a Chelsea FC an easier thing. For Now.

After going 10-6-14 (28 GF-37 GA) in 2019/20, Neman started off this season 2-2-4, but then went on a tear, W7 of 9 to rise to 3rd place with an 8-2-4 mark—with a UEFA Europa League Qualifying spot at stake—thanks to this current 6-match Win Streak (12 GF-2 GA) in which Neman has registered 3 straight Clean Sheets with 4 shutouts in the L5 games from talented GKs Syarhey Kurganski (SLUTSK, SMOL) and Dmitry Dudar (BREST, GORD). That’s pretty impressive. As is having 2 decent GKs on a roll to turn to.

At BetOnline, hosts Neman are +136 Favorites with visitors FK Isloch Minsk Raion (7-2-6, 18 GF-19 GA) currently priced at +198 and a Draw at +225 in the Three-way market with the Total at 2, 2½u -124. In the Goal Line market, Neman are PK, -½ at +109 ($10 to win $10.90, BetOnline) with Isloch PK, +½ at -129. The match will be played at Neman Stadium (Grass) in Grodno and Denis Shcherbakov will be the Referee. In Week 1 Vysshaya Liga action, FC Neman Grodno lost 1-0 at Isloch in its opener, so Revenge may theoretically be on the Menu here Saturday.
