Maintain money management. Don't blow your winnigs chasing, which will happen one day. There is nobody who wins forever.

Re: gambling problem

Looking forward to your selections.. BTW What sport do you normally excel with?

Also go with where your passion is, if you are doing something you love you will be more successful..

Re: gambling problem

Simple money management might relieve the tension.

Separate your gambling money from your personal.

Stake your gambling venture with a preset amount.

Quit when you lose your stake.

that sportsbook is stiffing me 6200 dolalrs

Congrats on your luck, but let's have a reality check please.

Real universities have computer science majors, not "network administration". This means you are attending a glorified trade school masquerading as a "college". Trade schools fill a valuable niche. But you delude yourself to believe they are a real college that will get you an $80K job.

You have been wrong about the reliability of your sportsbook. Your spelling is atrocious, your capitalization is nonexistent, and you are not at a selective institution. You provided no reason why you have any edge, and are unlikely to be one of the few long-run winners.

That car maintenance will be expensive. You can't survive on your savings if you lose everything. You and I both suspect you will do this. Here are some better options than gambling.

1) Give your savings to your parents to invest and then gamble only $100 units from your $6,200 balance.

2) Pay your school tuition and rent in advance.

3) Buy another car, because it's better than nothing.

4) Spend your money on booze, drugs, and hookers. Otherwise the bookies will take it and you won't even have pleasant memories.

Re: gambling problem

Congratulations for your handicapping abilities and success. I would strongly suggest that you not squander your short term profits on frivolous purchases like the Mercedes. Even if you are a world class handicapper, you will eventually have a run of bad beats that will hit you harder than you can imagine. Lower your wager amounts and maintain a bankroll of at least 50 times your max. wager. If you fail to do this you will eventually be knocked out of the game by a bad run, perhaps forfeiting a lifetime of profitable handicapping if you are truly as talented as you would have us believe.

I am inclined to think that perhaps you have embellished somewhat your success. If you really are a 2nd year college student, your writing abilities are a stinging indictment of our public education system. Your future non-handicapping income will depend in large part upon your communication skills. I suggest that you enroll in classes which will help you improve them.

Good Luck!

Never heard so many bitch bitch about the way somebody typed when it comes to posting on a forum, you would obviously believe that i would give a shit about how i actually punctuated my witting yet alone capitalization. This is a sports forum not a dictionary last time I looked.

so screw the grammer

so anyways, as i said before i don't really care if any of you believe my record or my winnings. As for me being a world class handicapper , i wouldn't quite say that's where i am. i wager on the 3 major sports includding baseball ,basketball , and football. None of you want to hear this but betting is only about 20% knowlegable information on the game, ive done this for a long time and I no. about 50% of the hole thing is HOW YOU BET, no how to cover, no how to place parlays with no loss potential , and most of all HAVE GOALS. The reason 90% of americans go to a casino and loose noey is because they have un realistic goals, they take 200 bucks and try to leave rich. The house is not hard to beat, contiually beating the house is hard to do. If you stop betting on the good shit and start taking the great shit you will do much better and keep a good bankroll, if you try to turn 500 into 3,000 youll be much more likely to loose. I call this winning in the short run, because there is no long run in betting, you cant win mnoey succesfully using the unit rule of keeping a stake continually in 1 place. That whole plan suggest a long run of inconsistantcy , lets put it this way do you want to pitch to david ortiz 10 times or 100 times, you tell me. Just remember WITH SUCCESS COMES GREED

after i get your smart ass replies on this post i might actually post my betting techniques

Re: gambling problem

1) The reason people lose at casinos is they are playing games with a house edge. They are long term losers for anyone that plays them. If you think otherwise, my advice is to stop gambling now, or sign up for a stats class when you get to college.

2) You can make more than $80,000 a year betting on sports, but it takes a lot of dedication and work, and an understanding of statistics, math and markets. Very few people are able to do this.

3) Buying gas guzzling depreciating assets is a terrible way to build wealth.

Yes, everyone would be a winner if they only had goals. I get my plays from Billy Walters' grandson. He works at K-mart for $1300 per month.

My advice to you is to stay in school and please learn the difference between no and know and the difference between loose and lose. As for your handicapping genius, anybody can claim any damn thing they choose. Please oh Einstein Gambling Genius, show us how it is done.

PS-Is Royalfan your father? The two of you must be related in some way.

Stop Gambling and become a paid tout. Sell those plays, you'll make money even when they lose.

You set yourself up for any abuse you get here so
TAKE IT LIKE A MAN!

So you are on a hot streak.....
I know of a guy that but some offshore books out
of a MILLION in less than a year, YES $1,000,000
and now he is BROKE.
Ego is not a dirty word but it can be a dangerous thing.
Be humble and put away 80% of those winnings.

You will be glad you did.

Good luck in the future but oh how I wish I were your book.

Re: gambling problem

My suggestions for quiting or at least scaling back is to find another hobby. One that occupies enough of your time that your not thinking about sports and doesn't allow you the extra time to cap games. Another thing that has worked for me is to take a vacation. If you go somewhere for a week or a long weekend where you have no internet access, no access to your bookie, etc. While on vacation you are so preoccupied seeing the sights and relaxing that you forget about getting down action (you may go through withdrawls the first day or two) and by the time you get back you should be good to go. Lastly you could just quit cold turkey by getting all of your money out. With no available funds its hard to place a bet.

GL on quitting...wish I had your success.

Re: gambling problem

1.working at target rolling a 07 benz?
2. 18 and in your second year of college?
3. 80k coming out as a network administration major at a trade school?
4. goals lead to chasers IMO

the last place you need to ask for advice on quitting gambling is a forum that promotes gambling...go to GA if you have a problem

but if you really do want to quit i would say find something else that preoccupies your time outside of handicapping and betting. you mention that on average you bet a little over 3 plays a week...limit that to 2 to 1 to 0 through time...take your own advice and set goals...goals to not gamble for a day...to not gamble for a week...to not gamble for a month...to not gamble period...
