The team struggles thru a 4-12 season in 2017 and name a new GM in January of 2018. The Texans end up going 11-5 in 2018, an improvement of 7 games. The reward for that GM? They fired him today.

The Texans either had the easiest or 2nd easiest schedule (by expected opponent wins) last year, along with the Patriots. This year they fall to the single most difficult schedule. So when they go 8-8 or 7-9 after the 11-5 season, people are going to be wondering why they got rid of their GM.

I remember when Penn State's defensive coordinator suddenly retired in 1999.

The football community in Happy Valley was shocked when the man who received the "Assistant Coach of the Year" award retired at the age of 55.

His name was Jerry Sandusky and someone should have asked more questions about the "curious" retirement.

Texans chairman and CEO Cal McNair called Brian Gaine a man of high character and thanked him for his service to the organization.

Strange.

It only gets worse as the Patriots are claiming tampering on the part of Houston in the new GM they hired.
