Jeter is a first ballot? maybe by the time he retires. He has won and won in the postseason a lot.
My reasoning is that the players will continue in the natural progression of their careers. At this point, assuming that he stays healthy and has a normal decline in his numbers he is a first ballot hall of famer.
As Journeyman said he will have 3500 + hits. He will have minimum 4 WS rings, 3 gold gloves, WS MVP, numerous All Star appearances, and has played in a tough city. He has never really had any controversy surrounding him, no allegations of cheating and has been clutch when needed.
There is no doubt he is a first ballot hall of famer.
