Like him or not, The Meatman is a draw.

But anyone who knows me is well aware I would not take a single dollar or be part of any fraud involving any of these contests.

Ridiculous.

Entry fee for the Leroy's "Money Talks" was $5,000 and the Stardust Invitational offered a purse of $10,000 with no entry fee.

That is correct JK. Dave "The MeatMan" Scandaliato is a draw.

And Leroy's chose to have a Las Vegas football picking contest and instead of taking the top sixteen(16) guys they passed on Dave "The MeatMan" Scandaliato and the Money Talk's Invitational turned out to be a total joke in the end.

When you don't include the #1 sports handicapping draw in the city of Las Vegas when having a football picking contest it is NOT considered to be a Grade 1, Grade 2 or Grade 3 event.

And guess what all you ass clowns out there who don't believe? John Kelly knows this.

Now if you bozo's will excuse me I have to go do my two(2) hours of volunteering that I do each week at the 5:00pm pacific time Mass at the Guardian Angle Catholic Cathedral as an usher located on Las Vegas Blvd. right next to the Wynn Casinos.

Very, very true, JJ. Thought that they would generate some WSOP-type buzz -- not that much in volume, but a start -- but nada.

Totally wasted opportunity. Was hard to even follow the thing when you tried because they didn't consistently update their website.

Guess the whole idea of a contest being a promotion escaped them.

Before the contest, M was talking about a reality TV show for the contest. I don't know what happened to that idea. I know a few of the guys, and they have great personalities for TV.

America is fascinated by gambling and Las Vegas, as horrendously misguided as that is.

Could be bigger than Jersey Shore if it's on channel 743.

The M blew that one.

Meatman, I for one hope you are one of the sixteen contestants in this year's tournament. Let's get it on and see who takes the big money when the dust settles.

I would personally like to thank everybody who took the time to listen to the rebroadcast of the radio show that I did on ESPN Radio in New Orleans and KLAV in Las Vegas on December 16th 2009 that had Adam Meyer on as a guest. You now know why there might not ever be a contest like the Money Talks Invitational in Las Vegas ever again which in my opinion is very very sad(of course not as sad as not having a contest like the Stardust Invitational where you get the top sixteen(16) guys in the business and personally invite them to participate with no entry fee).

Now with that said if any of you are interested in playing in a football handicapping contest on my radio show that now airs every Thursday on WGSO in New Orleans and heard live at my web site just let me know and I will tell you how easy it is to get entered.

How does someone like Meatbrains have any kind of job that involves interaction with other people?

I feel like I've met some people with Downs that are more interesting and deliver more profound and noteworthy thoughts than him.

It feels like 99% of the people out there like me. I walk around the Las Vegas sportsbooks daily and people are always coming up to me saying nice things. I never have any problems with anybody.

Even your hero JK wanted to take me to lunch and bet would still do it if I agreed.

Looks to me like you are the wierdo here son.

Two possible explanations here.

You're delusional.
You're online persona is far, far, far less charismatic than your real life persona.

I lean the former, but I don't know you at all and hope to keep it that way so it'd be insincere to call Explanation #1 a lock.

Those shows are gone BigDaddy. Rumor was Adam Meyer was going to sue American Wagering so they destroyed all the evidence.

Here is the closest that I found for you Sports Bettting Radio | Las Vegas Sports Betting Radio | Sports Betting Videos, but the programs are nowhere to be found.

Then why does your hero JK want to buy me lunch and spend some time with me?

He has asked me two(2) times in the last few weeks. First while sitting in the Wynn racebook in a chair reserved for the VIP which is the ONLY WAY you can get a seat on the day of a Triple Crown horse race and then the other time by PM right here at EOG.

You are the weird person son. Not me. Most people would give their left nut to hang out with Dave "The MeatMan" Scandaliato on the Vegas strip for a few hours at places like the Wynn Casino where I am treated like a king(not you Kingy).

For big money not much interested in competing against quality, big-named competitors. If you find a contest against weak, bird-brained morons (like Barkley) I might be interested though. Why would I want to go against tough foes if I don't have to?

Same with poker, my friends say they would cut an arm off to play with guys like Ivey, hell that's the last guy I want to be playing. If I need a friend I can buy a dog, when it comes to gambling I want as many dumbasses as we can find. Keep us posted though. :)

Really?

Ask JK what the ticket writers, managers and cocktail servers think of Dave "The MeatMan" Scandaliato. I am treated like a god in there.

One(1) last thing before I go son. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT walk up to me at the Wynn and bother me or security will tell you to leave me alone. If you think I am lying just ask Fezzik. I am sure Steve will tell you what happens to you when you bother me in the Wynn racebook.

The look on Steve Fezziks face was priceless when security came up to him and told him to get the fuck away from me.

Re: How many High Stakes EOG Posters would pony up a nice sum of cash to take on the biggest names in the industry?

The days of the 'big names' are over. everyone with a computer and a datbase knows more than those guys do.

I remember when the big sell was 'INSIDE information', then when that petered out it was "I am the best HANDICAPPER ever, now that everyone can handicap and get the same data, these guys new sales pitch is "I know the MARKET". The evolution of tout scum is amazing so once people figure out there is no real market and the supposed line moves that are supposed to give guys valued are totally meaningless, they will make up something else to sell to the saps who try and make money betting sports.

So basically anyone putting money up to bet against someone that a bunch of other degenerates lifted to 'stardom' is a little dumb. Because beating them one on one or even in a round robin type format isnt going to prove anything. There are more than enough contests around where you can take on all comers and if you win just claim you beat a bunch of 'big name' guys.

Re: How many High Stakes EOG Posters would pony up a nice sum of cash to take on the biggest names in the industry?

All very true, wantit, but there's still those stacks of nice crisp Franklins at stake to boot, against a beatable field. And it's a very entertaining format that has a long tradition here in Las Vegas.

But, you're right, winning or losing in a particular weekend, or two or three particular weekends, really doesn't prove anything. It might be interesting to alter the format at some point to include an overall season/contest result, but still with the head-to-head matchups that are the staple of the format.

One way, but one that would really alter the format, would be to match the current top two season-long players each week head-to-head, so that they're going for both a week and season-long prize. Conceivably, you might wind up with the same two players each weekend, but probably not, given how hard it is to stay on top of the hill.

You seem to be really down on contests but betcha'll be listening if this contest comes to fruition. Bottom line is the Stardust Line proved that a match play tourney can make for great radio. Am guessing every single poster at EOG tuned in to to the Stardust Line and Money Talks contests whenever they had the opportunity. And when the prize is 100% payout it offers a juice free opportunity for someone to take home megabucks by just winning just four matches (16 contestants at $6,250 each equals $100,000 for winner).

Re: How many High Stakes EOG Posters would pony up a nice sum of cash to take on the biggest names in the industry?

No I was a gambler not a tourney guy. Tournies are good for people who like to play make believe. Basically it is like playing the lottery. Now to be fair some of them do give out lucrative pay outs for next to nothing, and I did the Hilton a couple times in the late 90s and early 2000s. But for the most part that thing was a stepping stone for guys looking to go tout so it got boring. Plus the way it works is a total joke, but a guy paid my way a few years so I did it with him.

But watching and listening to those things is the same as watching my man Barry Chappell sell his art on TV. Good for entertainment and when he loses his mind about something. I never ever watched or listened to a contest for advise or looking to get an advantage or an angle. Because like I siad back in the day they spouted a bunch of trends and used them as evidence for picking one team over another. But I had those and many more so they werent telling me anything I couldnt find out myself. Now they mention the trends a little bit, but now, as i said, try and focus on the line or the price more as a reason to take a team or not. Which is also something anyone can do, especially if they have a decent line service. So unless they were total scum and saying the crazy shit Stu Feiner used to say I didnt care.
