I Think Cascade Should Be Removed From This Site

Here is the reason why

I am letting a neutral party finalize my decison. I vote for them to be removed until Lenny returns money to Jimmy. For the 50th time I think Cascade is a fine book but has to do right thing here and pay and if not they should be removed from site until they pay. Kenny make the right decison here. I am head mediator of this case.

I made comments about this when it happened who knows how long ago, and it isn't really about the money actually. The FACT that they CHANGED their rules AFTER this happened is a bigger issue. I said the same thing 2 years ago.


I also touched on something that jim said himself here. Back then Cascade wasn't the great place it is now, or is supposed to be. So why not leave a game or two up a little longer than normal?
If the guys loses great take the money and you get this, an issue that most people are going to see as THE BETTOR taking the shot, not the other way around. But saythe bets wins, then they cite rule xyz and don't pay the bet.

It is a win win for the book.

I am not saying this is the case here, just as I said it back then. But that is why there are rules that HAVE to be followed TO THE LETTER. It keeps EVERYONE honest.

I don't care how much money someone has, or how they live their lives, in times of desperation people do stupid things. They get greedy or desperate. Aces Gold ( I hate using that as an example but it is the case study in this sort of thing) NOONE, and I repeat NO ONE thought they would fail. All the time I was saying be careful and to watch them for offering outrageous lines and increasing their limits simultaneously. People laughed and said they had more money than God, and yada yada yada. 6 weeks later these same guys are crying on every forum on thenet about money they got screwed out of.

This is old news, and apparently new ownership has taken over. But then again that doesn't seem to exhonerate BOS either from past indeiscretions. Doesn't really matter the dollar amounts inviolved, the act itself, and subsequent trying to "cover it up" is the paramount issue in all this.

I didn't make that post to use as a mantra for "Free Jimmy".


BOTH sides were wrong in the case. BUT as a sportsbooks that leaves games up too long they have to KNOW that bettors, and degenerates are going to take shots. So they HAVE to abide by their rules. Even if the rules suck, as long as a book is CONSISTANT, then they are OK by me. But books that pick and chose when and where they enforce their rules are not that trustworthy. A lot of books I don't like I can at least respect because they follow their rules, and players know what to expect when they play with them.

I wish I had had an account with them to see if that was habitual or just a one time incident. I did check AFTER this for a couple weeks, but I didn't see any games that were left up too long, but then again that might have been pretty obvious.

Also the fact that no other guys other than Jimmy has come around to complain about this makes it look like BTJ is the only guy that either made the bet, HIGHLY unlikely, or he is the only one that didn't get refunded, most plausible.

I wouldn't lump the new ownership into all this with what was happening years ago when it was pretty well known that they weren't doing all that great. While their "reputation" never really waivered, it was apparent that things weren't all Kosher.

So wanting to take the new banner down doesn't really make sense. Just as I don't really lump the new BOS onwnership in with the old one that didn't pay some players, so I can't really judge them either.

When people that take over the books are clueless to gambling and simply look at it as an investment they do things that don't make sense. And they are surely oblivious to these sort of disputes that sometimes go on. You think some millionaire or some group of millionaires that buy a sportsbook know that the previous owner screwed someone out of a couple hundy? Very doubtful. They are simply looking for an investment.

It is the same with any one that buys a product they are unfamiliar with. I could stretch it all the way to the sale of the RX, and what the new ownership has done and is doing. But that would definately go out on a tangeant.

The best solution is to do what the Shrink suggests and have a 3 way call and try to figure out exactly what happened, and why it happened that way. And get some sort of closure to this whole issue.

Again, I am not sure how much the 600 means to Jimmy. If he is just using it to get a rise, and have something to gripe abut he has surely gotten his money's worth.

If he truly wants the 600 and interest I am sure that it can be gotten with a simple phone call. Maybe.

If the 600 means that much to Lenny then he really has no reason to pay, since he isn't in the business anymore (that I know of) and the ravings of a poster that most think of as a lunatic probably wouldn't sway too many if he were.

I don't have an account there, I don't plan to have an account there. But I would suggest everyone that does, read the rules, and watch the way they conduct day to day business. But I would say that about every book out their regardless of reputation.

When you have money in these places, you are always at risk. In theory they really do not have to pay anyone. Any book that wants to close up shop is pretty safe in terms of prosectution and paying of debts. Except for maybe the British and Australian books. I won't play at a Costa Rican book simply because if they steal a few million from players and throw a couple hundred grand to who ever is in control at that time they are proably not going to have to answer for anything. That might be a jaded view, but without any real regulation, and when the US govenrment says it is illegal, players have very litle options if they don't get paid.

I have said all I am going to say on this issue. I spent some time on it months ago, basically saying the same things. Jimmy either take the call or continue to ride the issue. I don't really care. Some of it is entertaining, but the longer you drag it out the more it looks like you are just griping to have something to gripe about.

Just think, if you take the call and DON'T get paid, an apology, or some satisfaction, look at all the NEW material you will have. While this is sometime entertaining, it is really getting old.

I see no reason at all to remove CASCADE from this site. In order for RESOLUTION to occur, BOTH sides have to be willing to talk. In this situation, I have repeatedly asked BEANTOWN to contact me, which he hasn't done...

Unless Beantown is willing to do this, there can be no RESOLUTION, period...

The NEW ownership deserves this at the very least...

This 2 year old BTJ beef was with Cascade and that group. Since then you have an original partner in Cascade starting his own book and leaving and another well established credit shop taking over after another one finished their partnership prior. The current Cascade business is in name only for Don Best and website purposes it appears and really in no way is the Cascade that this beef was with.

It's like having a problem with any book that now has new ownership but keeps involved with some of the old ownership on a limited backing basis. This BTJ bet more than likely would have never occured now at Del Mar/Cascade.

Last word on this from me. I bettor who is sharp,does this for a living, calls a book to get a line. They have not yet taken down a game that has started. Their mistake. The bettor bets the total and takes the side that has the advatage at that point in time. The bet loses, and after the game the bettor wants the bet canceled. On all the forums the biggest bone of contention is that books don't honor a bet taken. What is the book supposed to do. I think with certain types of customers, they might show some leeway. With other types no. If you guys want to run a good book off the site, no problem. But to do so over this incident is a mistake. It's shit like this that makes books stay clear of the forums. Also a bettor using a posting persona, to further his agenda also stinks. If you guys think this is his only posting name, I think you may be somewhat naive. Hey, I could be wrong, but would still love to see the name on the Cascade account. If Cascade decides to pay, great. If they don't it will not change my opinion that they are a very good book. Overall too much time spent on this, I personally won't waste anymore. Take it away Jimmy. The stage is all yours.

Foots were very good NFL, good cfl., did not make up for stinky bases. Just tired of poor Lenny getting crucified over and over. Everyone knows they are a solid book, and he is a great guy. I just do not think it is right to get hits over torching this poor guy. This forum is entertainment, Cascade is for real.

Lenny, has always did the right thing since he opened Cascade, I know of more than one ocasion he reached out and asked for help because he didn't want to lose his name, as long as I've been knowing him he's never MULED no one, he is a VERY VERY VERY HONEST PERSON, $660 mean's nothing to him, it's defintely two sides to this story, BEANTOWN, if you ever got a chance to meet him in person you would take back alot of what you said, because the guy is as straight as they come, I can't understand why you want let the Shrink HELP you, if Lenny really felt in his heart he owed you he would defintely pay you, and you can take that to the Bank. I think if you dont want Shrink's assistance, I think you should bury it.
