well, i donate money, im working on getting a volunteer position set up in dc, provided im going to be living here much longer, i take care of a disabled parent, i give what money i have left to my parents so that they can make ends meet. aside from that, i babysit for several of my friends who have deadbeat dads that are never around for their kids. i go to soccer games, basketball games, baseball games and so on. im stretched and do what i can. i give everyone ive got.

Freedom to do what? Other countries have a government that listens to them, we listen to our government. We are free to work and shop and be good little slaves. Once you go outside that box you are not a "productive citizen"
Opportunity. That's a joke. Capitalism thrives on the poor. If it were not for the poor large corporations would have nobody to exploit. There are the few and far between cases where someone makes it, sure but there are also people who play 10 team parlays and win. It does not mean that it is the norm.
Security. How are we secure? This country, more than any other developed nation has more chance at seeing failures. Lets take Norway since I personally know people who live there. They could lose their job and know that they are taken care of until they find a new job. And they are given a livable wage, not the pathetic short term joke that unemployment gives you. We can have utilities shut off here. People in other countries find that crazy, someone going without hot water here is a not that uncommon.

I don't support greedy capitalist corporations. I shop locally owned places at every possible chance in order to keep all the money from trickling up and away from communities. I don't support those who exploit other life forms to make a profit. I would never buy from Starbucks because they contribute money to Israel. I don't buy from Nestle because they pay coffee farmers pennies for their product. I don't support Nike because they have sweat shops I don't eat animal products.
I've been active for many many years. I found all my political ideas back around the first Gulf war when I was in 8th grade. I'm not some Internet warrior. I've been to prison fighting for my beliefs.
