Is the book that you placed your first ever wager at still around? And what book was it?

Is Caliente the casino in Mexico?

I heard their football lines vary as much as you'd find from Vegas/offshore, if it's the same place.

Gibralter...not in business anymore.

Recommended by Mark Lawrence.

If I recall correctly, Caesars (the big one) in the mid '90's.

It's still around (although extensively remodeled), but the Caesars properties books reportedly are being taken over by Cantor Gaming for Caesars.

Guess I'm the only one to place a first wager at a book on the Strip, but I guess that's why they call me . . . .

Vegas: Stardust (I miss the days when you could walk out the door of the S'dust Book - and run across the street thru the "Food Court" on The Riviera to their book in about 30 seconds, or so. Later on they put a fence in the mid-street island to keep people from doing that but before they did you would see countless people walking/running between these 2 books looking for that extra 1/2 point

On-line: V-Wager.........Thankfully they are TOAST

Besides illegals

The Stardust

And I was fortunate enough to lose that bet.

Pissed me off right away losing money "right out of my pocket" and it was a good thing

Can't be sure, but I guess the Stardust.

Local in Texas...and No he's not still in business..He's dead...Biggest stiff ever..a buddy of mine and myself were going golfing one beatiful Saturday morning and called in 10 baseball games for a dime each...this was back before any of the internet or decent cells, the 20 minute ticker on ESPN or CNN...Was hoping to break even but really had no idea..Drank beer for about two hours after golf and decided to call in for night action and asked how we faired in the early stuff and he was livid...He said fuck you, you know damn good and well you went 10-0..with a couple pretty good dogs to boot so we decided not to bet any more that week...we were up 12,300... on Wednesday he paid us 3,300 and told us to go fuck ourselves...

We tried to get him to work out a payment plan and the answer was always the same. fuck you ...He had the balls to stay in business for awhile longer screwing more folks I'm sure..But he died about 3 years later and that was that...

Online...Bodog in the year of 2000...and yes they are still an out to this day...
