A retired firefighter who threw a fire extinguisher at police officers during the U.S. Capitol riot was sentenced on Tuesday to more than four years in prison.
Robert Sanford struck two police officers in the head with the fire extinguisher that he threw as he stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, with a mob of Donald Trump supporters. He also threw an orange traffic cone at a Capitol police sergeant.

“Sanford also hurled obscenities and insults at the law enforcement officers on the Lower West Terrace, calling them ‘traitors,’” a prosecutor, Janani Iyengar, wrote in a court filing.
One of the officers struck by the fire extinguisher had a bump and swelling on his head; the other had a headache and went to a hospital for a medical exam, prosecutors said.

U.S. District Judge Paul Friedman sentenced Sanford to four years and four months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, according to an online court record. Federal prosecutors had recommended a prison sentence of five years and 11 months.

Another fake sentence, he's prob been in jail for 2 yrs or so, will get out in maybe 1 more.

All of the Jan 6th prisoners will be uber rich someday when their reparations checks for unfair prosecution come in. Tens of millions each is a fair guess.

A Navy Reservist on January 6 is convicted of obstructing Congress during US Capitol attack

A man who was serving in the Navy Reserves when he participated in the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol was convicted Tuesday of all five counts he faced for his actions that day.

District Judge Trevor McFadden, who handed down the verdict following a bench trial in Washington, DC, found Speed guilty of obstructing an official proceeding as well as disorderly conduct in the Capitol and several other misdemeanors.

McFadden said Hatchet’s comments to an undercover FBI employee as well as his participation in the mob that day was enough to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he intentionally obstructed the Congressional proceedings.

“I think the evidence on this point is the strongest and most damning,” McFadden said.

According to court documents, Speed told the undercover FBI employee in March, 2022, that after he heard Vice President Mike Pence was not stopping or changing the electoral votes, he decided to go inside the Capitol to try to take control.

“I was like, ‘I’m going in there. Like I have no respect for people in this building. They have no respect for me. I have no respect for them.’” Speed told the employee. “So we all went in and we took control. Like, when you have that many thousands of people, like there’s nothing the cops can do … it’s impressive.”

Speed's lawyers asked the judge not to be prejudiced against him because of his inflammatory views. In conversations with an FBI undercover employee in 2022, Speed expressed admiration not only for Hitler but also for Olympic Park bomber Eric Rudolph and Unabomber Ted Kaczynski.

In recorded conversations, Speed also made antisemitic comments and proposed targeting Jewish people with acts of violence. He also collected neo-Nazi memorabilia.

“The defendant's statements of admiration for Adolf Hitler, Eric Rudolph and Ted Kaczynski ... and his belief that such activities could be justified are all highly relevant,” Nachmanoff said.

Prosecutors said Speed, a member of the far-right Proud Boys group, believed the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump. After Joe Biden took office, Speed began making preparations for what he believed was imminent civil war and started stockpiling weapons, including the three silencers that were the subject of his Virginia trial.

Here we have a man named Vincent Gillespie, he's an alt right domestic terrorist who stormed the Capitol, he was offered a plea that would have sent him to prison for between 41-51 months, he rejected the deal, he was just sentenced to 68 months, LMAO. No one ever claimed these magatards were bright

Capitol rioter rejected plea deal — now has to spend an extra two years in jail

Vincent Gillespie, a convicted Capitol rioter hailing from Athol, Massachusetts, received a prison sentence on Friday that was higher than the one he would have received had he not rejected an earlier plea deal.

As noted by NBC News' Ryan J. Reilly, the 61-year-old Gillespie received a 68-month prison sentence that is nearly two years longer than the sentence he might have served under his plea deal, which sought a sentence of between 41 and 51 months.

LOCK THEM ALL UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY!

Vincent J. Gillespie, 61, of Athol, Massachusetts, was sentenced to 68 months in prison for assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers; civil disorder; engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds; and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building. Gillespie was found guilty on December 23, 2022, following a jury trial in the District of Columbia. In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Court Judge Beryl A. Howell ordered Gillespie to pay a fine of $25,000, restitution of $2,000, and to serve 36 months of supervised release.

Gillespie was arrested on February 18, 2022, in Athol, Massachusetts.

The evidence at trial showed that on January 6, 2021, from approximately 4:11 p.m. to 4:26 p.m., Gillespie was among rioters in the Lower West Terrace of the Capitol who engaged in pushing, shoving, yelling, and fighting with law enforcement officers. He struggled his way through the crowd, eventually maneuvering through the rioters to the line of police officers defending the Lower West Terrace’s exterior door. At one point, he gained control of a police shield and used it to ram the police. He then used two hands to grab a Metropolitan Police Department sergeant by the arm, yanking him toward the mob. He then screamed “traitor” and “treason” at the police.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A mother-son duo have been found guilty in federal court Tuesday on all charges connected to the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Lisa Eisenhart, of Georgia, is accused of breaking into the Capitol with her son, Eric Munchel of Nashville, who was photographed carrying flexible plastic handcuffs in the Senate chamber. He has since been known as the "zip-tie guy."

Prosecutors say the two wore tactical and bulletproof vests in the Capitol and Munchel carried a stun gun. Munchel also recorded their storming of the Capitol, and prosecutors say that video shows the pair stashed weapons in a bag before entering the building. A search of Munchel’s Nashville home turned up assault rifles, a sniper rifle with a tripod, shotguns, pistols, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a drum-style magazine.

Eisenhart and Munchel have been found guilty on charges of conspiracy to commit obstruction, obstructing of an official proceeding and aiding and abetting, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon (Taser), disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon (Taser), unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon on Capitol grounds or buildings (Taser), entering and remaining in the gallery of Congress, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.

Man Claiming to Be a Woman Exposed Himself to High School Girls: Letter

An adult man claiming to be a woman went into a girls’ locker room and exposed himself to four minors, according to a new letter.

The alleged incident violated the girls’ right to privacy, the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) said in the letter, sent on April 19 to the Sun Prairie Area School District.

After taking part in a physical education class at Sun Prairie East High School on March 3, four girls went into the girls’ locker room to shower and change for the rest of the day, the institute said. When they entered, they encountered an 18-year-old man who is a senior at the school.

“While the girls were surprised to see him in the locker room, they had a general idea that this student identifies as transgender and has used girls’ bathrooms before. While they were uncomfortable, they proceeded to the shower area without interacting with the student,” the letter says.

“The girls entered the shower area with their swimsuits on, which was their common practice as they rinsed off. As they began to shower, the male student approached them, entered the shower area, announced ‘I’m trans, by the way,’ and then undressed fully and showered completely naked right next to one of the girls. He was initially turned towards the wall but eventually turned and fully exposed his male genitalia to the four girls. Understandably, the girls were caught off guard and shocked, closed their eyes, and tried to hurry up and leave the showers as quickly as possible.”

Another student who heard of what happened told an associate principal but instead of complying with federal law and reporting the incident to the school’s Title IX coordinator, the official said the girls could approach her.

“No one from the District contacted any of the girls’ parents at that time, and no one investigated. To be clear, that means that the District’s initial response to this incident violated Title IX,” WILL stated.

A mother of one of the girls later spoke to Renee Coleman, the school’s principal, who also failed to adhere to federal law, according to the letter.

An in-person meeting between the girls’ parents and school officials finally took place on April 5 but officials allegedly would not say what they would be doing in response to the exposure. “There was no indication that the District intends to address this matter in any way or change any policy,” WILL said.

On April 10, Coleman apologized in an email to one of the parents and said that the situation “should not have happened.” The school would “continue to work to ensure no one has a similar experience,” Coleman said, without identifying any specific steps that had or would be taken.

The principal also sent a one-page document from the school district that stated male students can use the girls’ locker room.

“If a transgender student makes any request regarding the use of locker rooms or any similar type of changing area, the request shall be assessed on a case-by-case basis with the goals of: (a) facilitating the transgender student’s access to the District’s physical education curriculum and other relevant programs; (b) ensuring adequate student privacy and safety; and (c) minimizing stigmatization of the transgender student,” the document states. “The physical layout of the facility and the degree of undress required when changing for the applicable activity are examples of factors that will be considered in making the arrangements. There is no absolute rule that, in all cases, will require a transgender student to access and use only the locker rooms and other changing areas that correspond to the biological sex the student was assigned at birth.”

The document does not say what happens if the male does not make a request.

School officials failed to protect the girls’ rights under Title IX, WILL lawyers say. “Four freshman girls taking a shower in their swimsuits in what is supposed to be a private and safe space, were exposed to the male genitals of a senior student against their will,” they said.

Because the male in question is an adult, he may have violated state law that forbids exposing a child to genitals.

The school district said in a statement to news outlets that the letter “provides neither an accurate nor complete account of the events that occurred,” adding: “The district had previously addressed this incident when it was brought to our attention. Steps have been taken to ensure that it does not recur.”

WILL is asking the district for documents including emails and texts between Superintendent Brad Saron and Coleman regarding the incident, as well as documents relating to when the district’s locker room and restroom guidance was put into place.

“School districts need to think through what loosening boundaries for single-sex spaces could mean for girls. Parents are understandably concerned about whether school districts—like the Sun Prairie Area School District—are doing everything required to protect girls in bathrooms and locker rooms,” Libby Sobic, WILL’s director of education policy, said in a statement. “WILL is calling on the district to act promptly to restore a sense of safety and privacy in its schools.”
