Because I've never heard of Arpanet either. Blah. Blah. Blah.

It's not WW2, dipshit. A little difference between phones now. There's a reason there are 5G phones. It's not because any cell phone can connect to a 5G network, idiot.

Not only does the network technology have to be developed and standardized now, but the devices have to be built as well.

Verizon, T-Mobile, and all of the networks just spent billions on putting up 5G towers, but they already had them up for the military years ago. Right, genius?

You are so fucking stupid, it's incredible.

Gee. I wonder who knows more about technology and economics.

A coder who worked in finance building predictive quant models and now owns businesses and real estate.

Or some dipshit who bought and held gold through one of the biggest stock market bull runs in the country's history.

Tough to figure out.

Unless you're a dumbfuck with absolutely no clue about anything.

I bought 2 OZ in about 1982 for about $600 each. now it's worth $4K, in the stock market it would be maybe $20K, a truly horrible investment.

ALL collectables are bad news. All they do is distract you from your real goals.

Yeah. Commodities never outpace inflation in the long run. That was offered as advice to the idiot in this thread, but he thought he was intelligent and lost his ass instead.

Right now inflation is outpacing commodities. By a lot.

It had hit $800 during the silver run up, I thought "hey, it's down 25% from the high, this is easy money, LOL".

Pretty much what he did too. Except the opposite. He saw it move higher 25% and thought it was going to keep going higher forever.

He wrote the book "Buy High, Sell Low".

easy to pick out an index ..........there are so many stocks in the dow in 1980 that kicked off later on..
The point is that many of the co's are long gone - kaput
people tend to look at dow stocks and think "these are major co's, they will be around forever" nope.

Among them was sears, woolworth, US steel, bethlehem steel, kodak.

It will never happen because it never happened.
